2022 is the 60th anniversary of the creation of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Disney has announced a new celebration that will run right through the year.

CELEBRATE 60 BEYOND AMAZING YEARS OF SPIDER-MAN! Since Peter Parker’s debut in 1962’s Amazing Fantasy #15, the world’s favorite wall-crawler has inspired millions of Marvel fans through his iconic adventures and stories. Next year, be a part of Spider-Man’s 60th anniversary celebrations all year long with your favorite Marvel comics, games, shows, collectibles, fashion and more!

No more details have yet been announced, but the teaser announcement does state “shows”, which should hopefully be some new content for Disney+ featuring your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.  While Sony does have the rights for movies, Disney still owns the character and can create animated shows, shorts or documentaries on Spider-Man., plus hopefully there could be some other surprises down the line.

What are you hoping for from the Spider-Man 60th anniversary?
