Marvel Studios Kevin Feige recently confirmed a number of new series will be coming to Disney+ during last weeks Investors Day event.  New series include Falcon & The Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Loki.

Now that these series have been officially revealed, Kevin Feige has been speaking to Variety about these new projects.

“These episodes will intersect with the movies in a very big way.  It’s a totally new form of storytelling that we get to play with and explore.”

This ties into his previous comments where he wants to use the streaming service to tell longer stories, we now have an idea of how long the seasons will be:

“It’s the first long-form narrative that Marvel Studios has done — they’ll be six episodes, eight episodes, 10 episodes with the actors from the films playing their characters.  They’ll be changing, evolving, growing in those event series and then those changes will be reflected in their next film appearances.”

And during this interview, he spoke about how impressed he was in getting actors such as Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Renner and others to reprise their roles on a smaller screen.

“I think it’s a testament to the quality of streaming and to the way things are changing that many of our actors are totally into it and are totally excited by it.  I was concerned about it. I had a whole song and dance ready to sell them about why we were so excited about it and why this was a best case scenario. But, within one second they were like, ‘You guys are doing it, we’re in.’”

This interview with Variety might only give us a few snippets about the upcoming Marvel shows, but it does sound encouraging that these series will be much shorter we’ve seen other Marvel shows like Daredevil or Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, since I do think a short run will improve the overall quality and being able to bring in the stars from the movies is a big move to get Disney+ subscribers.

And more importantly a closer link between the Marvel shows and movies should hopefully fix some of the issues with previous shows, which have very limited connection, often just down to a throwaway line about something happening in New York (the original Avengers movie).  And the movies never have any impact from what happens in the TV shows, but that all looks to be changing with the new Marvel Disney+ shows.

I'm really excited for the new Marvel Series. But I don't really know what the What if series and Hero Project or Marvel 616. This is because the Disney+ Libary page hasn't been updated for the Marvel content.
