During the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige announced they would be bringing “Blade” into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and that Mahershala Ali will be playing the Vampire Hunter.

Today, on the official Marvel Facebook page in India, an image was posted, showing the upcoming India Release Slate for Marvel.  While we’ve known the release dates for “The Marvels”, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and “Thor: Love & Thunder” for a while, we now have a release date for “Blade”., which is coming out in cinemas on October 7th 2022.

This is the first time a release date for “Blade” has been announced by Disney and it gives us a packed 2022, with these movies, along with multiple Disney+ shows like “She-Hulk” and “Moon Knight”.

What makes this announcement interesting, is that it has come from Disney’s Indian Facebook Page and Twitter account, rather than directly from Marvel in the US and there is conflicting information about the release date.   It wouldn’t be the first time incorrect information has been announced by an international arm of Disney.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that filming was delayed until July 2022 and with “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and “The Marvels” currently filming,  it’s likely filming on “Blade” is either already underway or happening soon.

Update – The social media posts have now been deleted.

Are you looking forward to “Blade”?

IF this is indeed the date, wow. In many respects this DOES make sense given the MCU add at the end of Venom 2, indicating they are already having five, if not six or seven MCU movies a year. Bring 'em!
