Disney have announced that Ludwig Göransson, will be writing the score for new Star Wars live-action series, The Mandalorian, which is coming to Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+, which is launching in late 2019.

Ludwig Göransson has composed soundtracks for a wide range of movies including Black Panther, CreedCreed IIVenom, and Fruitvale Station.  He has also worked on TV shows including Community and New Girl. Other projects including producing records for Donald Glover, Haim and Chance The Rapper.

“Words fail to express how surreal and humbling it feels to be invited into the Star Wars universe,” Göransson told StarWars.com. “I am deeply grateful to Jon Favreau and Disney for this opportunity and to John Williams for raising the bar so high with his iconic, intrepid scores — they will never be matched. In these next months I hope to honor the tradition of Star Wars’ musical landscape while propelling The Mandalorian into new and unchartered territory. And I will try to remember that there is no try.”
