During the Walt Disney Company Investor Day Event, Pixar’s chief creative officer, Pete Docter, announced a brand new movie, Lightyear.

Lightyear is slated to open in theaters on June 17th, 2022 and is a sci-fi action-adventure and the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the toy.

The film reveals how a young test pilot became the Space Ranger that we all know him to be today.

“Captain America” actor Chris Evans will be providing his voice for the role of Buzz Lightyear, as this isn’t the toy version, which Tim Allen provided the voice for.

Chris Evans also took to Twitter to explain why he is providing the voice:

Lightyear is directed by Angus MacLane and produced by Galyn Susman.

Are you looking forward to seeing “Lightyear”?
