John Harlan Kim Joins “LA LAW” Revival Pilot
Disney’s ABC & 20th Television is currently developing a revival of the popular series, “LA Law” and according to Deadline, John Harlan Kim, has joined the series.
“LA Law” originally aired in 1986 and ran for 8 seasons. It’s about a high-powered law firm called, McKenzie, Brackman, Chaney and Kuzak which handles both criminal and civil cases, usually for high fees. However, office politics and romance often distract the legal staffers from matters in the courtroom.
The new version of “LA Law” is about the law firm of McKenzie Brackman — which is now named Becker Rollins — which reinvents itself as a litigation firm specializing in only the most high-profile, boundary-pushing and incendiary cases.
Original cast members Blair Underwood and Corbin Bernsen, are reprising their roles as Jonathan Rollins and Arnie Becker. Toks Olagundoye, Hari Nef and Ian Duff, will also be playing new characters in the revival.
John Harlan Kim has previously starred in “Neighbours”, “The Librarians”, “Hawai’i Five-0”, “Pandora”, “9-1-1” and “Nancy Drew”.
In the new series, John Harlan Kim will be playing the role of Chad Park. Who is an up-and-coming attorney at the firm described as a “shark-in-training” whose ambition sometimes gets ahead of his ethical standards. He’s a brilliant attorney who takes on his first murder trial and must devise an inventive legal strategy when his client drops a bombshell in open court.
The new pilot is being written by Marc Guggenheim and Ubah Mohamed and will be directed by Anthony Hemingway (Anthony Hemingway Productions), who will also be executive producer. Along with Blair Underwood, Dayna Bochco and Jesse Bochc.
