At last months Disney Investor Day, a live-action version of the animated classic “Peter Pan” was announced for Disney+.

“Peter Pan & Wendy” is being directed by David Lowery, who previously directed the recent version of “Pete’s Dragon”.

A young girl rebels against “growing up” by going with her two brothers to a magical land ruled by an ageless boy obsessed with adventure who is locked in an ongoing battle with a pirate captain.

The cast includes Jude Law as Captain Hook and Yara Shahidi (“black-ish,” “grown-ish”) in the role of Tinker Bell.

According to the Wrap, Jim Gaffigan has signed on to play Captain Hook’s loyal sidekick Mr. Smee.  It had been previously reported that Nick Offerman  was offered the opportunity to play the role.

Jim Gaffigan has previously starred in “Tesla,” “Troop Zero,” “American Dreamer” and “Light from Light.”

What do you think of this casting?

For the Peter Pan Live-Action remake, I hope it shows how Peter Pan cut off Captain Hook's hand before throwing it at the crocodile, how and where the crocodile swallowed the alarm clock; where did Peter, the Lost Boys, Captain Hook, and the pirates come from before arriving at Neverland; and also how Hook became a captain. I wish the appearance of Captain Hook, as well as his ship the Jolly Roger, were based on those of HOOK by Steven Spielberg.
