“Big Sky” is returning for a second season later this year and according to Deadline, the series has a new cast member joining the show, with Janina Gavankar becoming a regular.
The second season of Big Sky follows private detectives Cassie Dewell and Jenny Hoyt as they reunite to investigate a car wreck outside of Helena, Montana, and they soon discover that the case may not be as straightforward as it seems. As they unravel the mystery of the accident, their worlds will collide with a band of unsuspecting teens, a flirtatious face from Jenny’s past, and a vicious outsider hellbent on finding answers. This series is based on the series of books by C.J. Box, starring Kylie Bunbury and Katheryn Winnick.
Janina Gavankar has previously starred in “Sleepy Hollow” and “The Mysterious Of Laura”, plus she played Iden Versio in the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 video game, which is a character that’s also appeared in Star Wars novels and other products.
She will be playing the role of Ren, who’s is new to Helena. After a simple business transaction results in a messy car wreck involving one of her employees, Ren comes to town hellbent on getting answers. Now she must find out who betrayed her, but the more rocks she overturns, the more snakes she will discover. Ren’s moves are calculated, and she strongly believes that it is best to keep your enemies close, which might spell bad news for Dewell & Hoyt.
The first episode from the second season is due to arrive in the US on ABC on Thursday 30th September 2021, with the episode available on Hulu the following day. No release date for the second season has yet been confirmed for Disney+, where the show is a Star Original.
