New details on the upcoming “Willow” Disney+ series have recently come to light as, according to Score: The Podcast, James Newton Howard is going to be composing the score for the new series.

James Newton Howard has worked with Disney on many projects, including some classic animated films such as “Atlantis: The Lost Empire”, “Treasure Planet” and “Raya And The Last Dragon”. He has also worked on a number of live-action films with Disney, including “Maleficent”, “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms”, and “Jungle Cruise”. The original Willow film was composed by James Horner, who sadly passed away in 2015.

This new series introduces all-new characters to the enchanted realm of fairy queens and two-headed Eborsisk monsters, and welcomes back its namesake hero, Willow Ufgood, performed once again by the unmatchable Warwick Davis. Also appearing in the series will be Amer Chadha-Patel, Ruby Cruz, Ellie Bamber, Tony Revolori and Erin Kellyman.

No Disney+ release date has yet been announced, but filming has been taking place over the summer in Wales.

The original “Willow” film is also available to watch on Disney+.

Are you looking forward to this new “Willow” series?
