Back during the Walt Disney Companies Investor Day event in 2020, Marvel’s chief creative officer Kevin Feige, announced that Disney+ was giving the team at Marvel Studios opportunities to do something different and would be releasing the “Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special”.

This Holiday Special is due to be released during the 2022 holiday season and will be a stop-gap between “Thor: Love & Thunder” and “Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol 3”.

Filming on the Disney+ special has been done during the filming on the third “Guardians Of The Galaxy” film and today, James Gunn, who is the writer and director of the special, shared an update on social media, confirming that filming on the Disney+ special has been completed.

Definitely one of the best wrap gifts ever. Thanks @MarvelStudios ! #GotGHolidaySpecial

Very little is known about “The Guardians Of The Galaxy: Holiday Special”, but it does look like the Christmas ornaments have confirmed that Mantis, Nebula, Rocket, Groot, Cosmos, Groot, Kraglin Drax and Starlord.  These ornaments have also given us a hint that Groot is going to be more grown-up than when we last saw him in “Avengers: Endgame”.

The first two “Guardians Of The Galaxy” films are available on Disney+ now.

Are you looking forward to “The Guardians Of The Galaxy: Holiday Special” arriving on Disney+ later this year?
