Disney has announced that the Brazilian Star+ Original series “Insânia” is going to be coming to Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland on Wednesday 26th January 2022.

“Insânia” follows the story of Paula, a scientific police officer who is admitted to a mysterious psychiatric clinic after a family tragedy. There, her mind wanders along dark and dubious paths, reaching the brink of insanity as she investigates the real reason for her hospitalization unravelling a terrifying conspiracy.

This new original series stars Carol Castro (Mulheres Apaixonadas; Carcereiros), Rafaela Mandelli (O Negócio), Bella Camero (Malhação), Eucir de Souza (Rua Augusta), Rafael Losso (Rotas do Ódio e Rio Heroes) and Samuel de Assis (#MeChamadeBruna).

The series produced by Star Original Productions is composed of eight episodes and debuted on Star+ on December 3rd in Brazil, and will soon arrive in other countries in Latin America on Star+ and on Disney+ internationally.

It also stars, Ravel Cabral, Thomas Aquino, Lourinelson Vladimir, Fabio Marcoff, Leonardo Goulart, Rosana Stavis, Luthero Almeida and Pedro Inoue.

The original idea of this series comes from Lucas Vivo and screenplay by Marcelo Slavich, Walter Slavich, Flor Canosa, García Lagos and Lucas Vivo, the series is directed by Gustavo Bonafé (Irmandade e O Doctrinador) and produced locally by Intro Pictures.  It was filmed in Paraná, near Curitiba and Lapa.  Part of the series was also recorded in Uruguay.
