Earlier this year, it was revealed that Disney is currently developing a new TV series for Disney+, based on High Fidelity, which is a novel by Nick Hornsby and a movie featuring John Cusack.  The series will have 10 episodes.

With this series set to appear on the family friendly Disney Plus Streaming Service, it’s being toned down from the R rating that the movie had, down to a PG-13 rating.

Other details on this series is that Disney are planning on gender-swapping the main role from a male to a female, but will continue to use the location of a record shop owner and discussing failed romances, but from a female perspective.

With the popularity of vinyl record increasing, the concept of a record shop doesn’t seem too farfetched and on trend.

Zoë Kravitz will play the main role, she is the daughter of musician Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet.

Ugly Betty<‘s Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka are writing the script, with the film’s writer Scott Rosenberg on board as one of High Fidelity‘s producers.

No launch date has yet been revealed, but Disney+ is set to launch in late 2019.
