The Television Academy celebrated the 73rd Emmy Awards on Sunday night and Disney+ picked up an award for its original “Hamilton”, which won the award for “Outstanding Variety Special”.

An unforgettable cinematic stage performance, the filmed version of the original Broadway production of “Hamilton” combines the best elements of live theater, film and streaming to bring the cultural phenomenon to homes around the world for a thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime experience. “Hamilton” is the story of America then, told by America now.

“Hamilton” is available now on Disney+.

Unfortunately, “WandaVision” didn’t pick up any major awards during the live show.  Elizabeth Olsen and Kathryn Hahn were both in attendance at the live event.

The Emmy’s have been held over 2 weekends, with Disney+ picking up 13 Creative Arts categories last week, including 7 wins for “The Mandalorian” and 3 for “WandaVision”.

Streaming services once again dominated the Emmy’s, with Netflix picking up 44 awards, as “The Queen’s Gambit” and “The Crown” won 11 Emmy’s each.  Apple TV+ also picked up plenty of Emmy’s for its show “Ted Lasso” and HBO did extremely well with 19 Emmy wins.
