At this weeks Annecy International Animation Festival in France, Disney revealed that a new animated series called Ghost Force will be coming soon to the Disney Channel in 2020.

Ghost Force is aimed at children aged from six years old and follows a group of junior high school friends who “team to form a secret superhero team dedicated to protecting New York City.”

This image was revealed, showing off the new show:

The series is being created by Zagtoon, who are the studio behind “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir,” which is a huge hit for Disney.

“Animation continues to be one of the cornerstones of Disney magic and story-telling, across Disney Channels and excitedly, now on the new streaming platform, Disney Plus.  As a company, we are privileged to work with so many creative masterminds, both here in France and across Europe, who are first in class when it comes to relaying timeless stories for all members of the family.”

Said Hélène Etzi, country manager at The Walt Disney Company France, when talking about the new slate of original programming including Monsters At Work, Chip ‘n’ Dale and Bluey.

“This is a hugely busy and exciting year and there’s no better time to be working in animation, which continues to be at the heart of what we do at Disney,” echoed Ross.

With this series coming to the Disney Channel, hopefully this will also mean its coming to Disney+ as well, though nothing has yet been confirmed, but its hard to not to expect Disney to have sorted streaming licensing issues out for new shows before they air.

If they're ever in need of voice actors, I'd like to audition if I can.
