Disney has announced that the smash-hit animated series “Futurama” will be coming to Disney+ in Canada on February 23rd as part of the launch of the new general entertainment brand “Star.

“Futurama” was created by the creator of “The Simpsons” and the Netflix series “Disenchantment”.  It stars .

While delivering pizza on New Year’s Eve 1999, Philip J. Fry is accidentally cryonically frozen and thawed out one thousand years into the future. He then goes to work for Planet Express, making intergalactic deliveries with cycloptic captain Leela and robot buddy Bender.

The series ran for 140 episodes across 10 seasons, from 1999 to 2013.  All episodes are currently available on Hulu in the United States.

It isn’t clear how many seasons of the show will be available on Disney+ in Canada.  Expect this series to also be made available on Disney+ in other regions with “Star” once existing contracts expire.

    Good to see The Golden Girls will be added, just hope the other related shows do as well, Empty Nest and Nurses. Would also be good if Blossom did too
