Earlier this month, 20th Century Studios released its first major title since the pandemic begin, “Free Guy”, which was released exclusively in cinemas around the world.

In Twentieth-Century Studios’ epic adventure-comedy Free Guy, a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way… before it is too late.

Earlier this year, Disney CEO Bob Chapek said that “Free Guy” would be available in theatres for 45 days before it can be released on other platforms.

Disney has confirmed on its official website that Free Guy will be coming to Disney+ in Australia and New Zealand on Wednesday 29th September.

Both Australia and New Zealand have had selected areas in lockdown again due to the pandemic picking up stream, making going to see “Free Guy” at cinemas impossible in some areas due to local restrictions closing cinemas such as in Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney.

Hopefully, it won’t be too long until “Free Guy” is announced for other countries with Star on Disney+. In the US, the film will have to go to HBO Max first due to pre-existing contracts.

Are you looking forward to watching “Free Guy”?
