20th Century Fox’s Searchlight has announced that it will be releasing “Wendy” in theaters on February 28th 2020.   Which tells the classic Peter Pan story from Wendy’s point of view.

The movie is set on a mysterious island where aging and time have come unglued, Zeitlin’s mythological story tells the tale of two children from different worlds fighting to maintain their grip on freedom and joy.

It stars Tommie Lynn Milazzo as Wendy Darling and Shagy Walker as Angela Darling.  “Wendy” is directed by Benh Zeitlin, who previously directed Beasts of the Southern Wild. The movie has also been co-wrote by his sister, Eliza Zeitlin.

While all new 20th Century Fox movies still have to be released on HBO until 2022, the connection to Peter Pan, makes this likely to eventually end up on Disney+ in a few years time after its finished its run at cinemas and HBO.
