One of the upcoming Disney+ Star Wars series announced at the last Disney Investor Day is “Ahsoka”, which will see Rosario Dawson return to the role she played in “The Mandalorian”.
According to The Illuminerdi, the upcoming Disney+ series will feature a former Jedi called Barriss Offee, who has previously appeared in animated series “The Clone Wars” and in “Star Wars: Attack of the Clones”.
The new series is reportedly looking to cast an Asian actress in her 20s to 30s for the lead role, which could imply that Barriss Offee could be appearing in more than one episode. The character has previously been played by Meredith Salenger in “The Clone Wars” and played by Nalini Krishan in “Attack Of The Clones”.
In the animated series, Barriss Offee and Ahsoka Tano were close, but due to Barriss becoming disillusioned by the Jedi order, she eventually tried to bomb the Jedi temple and tried to frame Ahsoka.
Originally, Dave Filoni had planned for Barriss Offee to die in the fifth season of “The Clone Wars”, but ultimately decided against it as he wanted to use the character again in the future. It’s been speculated that Barriss eventually became an Inquisitor, that is part of a special team that track down and hunt Jedi’s.
Little is known about the upcoming “Ahsoka” Disney+ series, though it’s expected she will be trying to track down Grand Admiral Thrawn, who she mentioned by name during the second season of “The Mandalorian”.
