Disney’s ABC is developing a brand new single-camera comedy series that Eva Longoria will be directing the series, along with being an executive producer. UnbeliEVAble’s Ben Spector will also be an executive producer, along with “Solar Opposites” writers Grace Parra Janney and Josh Bycel, who will also be writing the untitled series.

The untitled series is inspired by Grace’s own large Mexican-American family in Texas. It is described as a multi-generational comedy about an upper-middle-class family handling grief, identity, and a reevaluation of their roles following the death of the family’s patriarch.

In a statement, Eva Longoria said:

“I’ve been a huge fan of Josh’s work since our time together on ‘Telenovela’ and Grace and I share similar ‘Texican’ backgrounds. At UnbeliEVAble we are always pushing to tell real and authentic stories so I’m particularly proud to share one that is not unlike my own family’s experience.”

20th Television is producing the show, so expect to see this series on ABC and Hulu in the United States, with the show released as a Star Original internationally on Disney+.
