Following the news that Scarlet Johansson has filed a lawsuit against the Walt Disney Company over a breach in contract over the release of her film “Black Widow” on Disney+ Premier Access and in cinemas. Which has resulted in the film missing milestones that she and her legal team believe would have been met, had the film been only available in cinemas and potentially delayed again. Costing Scarlet Johansson millions of dollars in lost revenue. Disney has already struck back, stating that she has already been paid more than $20 million for the role, and that will continue to rise.
But this might not be the only legal issue that Disney will have to deal with over its use of Disney+ Premier Access, as Former THR Editor Matt Belloni is now reporting in his exclusive newsletter What I’m Hearing…that “Cruella’s” Emma Stone is also considering a lawsuit of her own.
“Emma Stone, star of Cruella, is said to be weighing her options”
It’s important to note that nothing has yet been announced officially, and should Disney and Emma Stone’s team reach an agreement. This might never come to light. Disney also might have a similar issue with Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson over the release of “Jungle Cruise” on Disney+ Premier Access today.
Should Emma Stone also come out with support for the lawsuit or issue her own, this will likely cause more problems for the future of Disney+ Premier Access.
Do you think Emma Stone should follow Scarlet’s lead?
