During Disney’s quarterly financial results call, Disney’s CEO Bob Iger gave an update on the international rollout of Disney+ around the world.

Disney+ will launch in the following regions:

  • Japan – Mid-October
  • Taiwan – Mid-November
  • Hong Kong – Mid-November
  • South Korea – Mid-November
  • Central/Eastern Europe – Summer 2022
  • Middle East – Summer 2022
  • South Africa – Summer 2022

This is obviously a big disappointment to those Disney fans in Central and Eastern Europe, who were originally supposed to get Disney+ this year.

This is the first time Disney has announced any plans for the Middle East or South Africa.  Expect more details on this launch to come next year.

Disney+ hit 116 million subscribers in July, so launching in these countries will continue to push those subscriber numbers up.

What do you think of this international rollout plan?
