The magic of Broadway makes its way to the Royal Albert Hall in London as six stars of Disney’s Broadway hits sing some of the greatest songs from “The Lion King,” The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “Tarzan,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Frozen,” and “Tarzan,” among others. Most of these are songs that you’ve heard in your favorite Disney movie, but this time, they have a Broadway flair.

This was a lot of fun to watch. I know not everyone loves the sounds of Broadway. I’ve never been to a Broadway show, but the talent of these actors and musicians is undeniable. This makes me want to see one of Disney’s shows on Broadway, or maybe an off-Broadway production. The music is timeless and the musicians involved are really giving it their all to make sure the audience has a good time. That’s all I could really ask for from this special, and I’m glad I got it.

I’m now curious if any of the current Broadway shows will be filmed and added to Disney+ in a similar vein to how “Hamilton” was added in 2020. That production did amazingly well and garnered some Emmy wins for the streaming service. It would give Disney+ even more content and would allow them to work in some of their own intellectual property from the stage rather than paying for the rights for something else. While, this is far from my favorite content that could be on Disney+, because I feel something is lost when not in attendance, it’s clearly got an audience and I would be happy those people got more content they enjoy.

I really enjoyed this special. I was singing along to many favorites from my childhood and introduced to some others from the shows that I haven’t seen yet.  This is a great special for the Broadway fan or if you’re just a fan of Disney music.
