Disney has purchased the movie rights to Chris Van Allsburg’s book, “The Mysteries Of Harris Burdick” and the movie will be made by 20th Century Fox according to Deadline.  This children’s book was originally released in 1984 and it consists of a series of images, ostensibly created by Harris Burdick, a man who has mysteriously disappeared. Each image is accompanied by a title and a single line of text, which encourage readers to create their own stories.

This is the third book from the “The Polar Express” and “Jumanji” author, that Disney has acquired rights to, as they also have rights to “The Garden of Abdul Gasazi” and “The Sweetest Fig”.  20th Century Fox began production on “The Sweetest Fig” last year.

“The Mysteries Of Harris Burdick” will be adapted by Rafe Judkins and will be produced by Bill Teitler, Mike Weber, Ted Field, Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen.
