Disney+ is set to add a new sixth brand next month called “Star”, which add thousands of hours of movies from 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures and Touchstone, along with television shows from Disney’s creative studios, including Disney Television Studios including ABC, Freeform, FX and 20th Television.

This is in addition to brand-new originals from Disney’s General Entertainment studios in International markets, with over 35 first-run series set to premiere by the end of the first year including “Love, Victor”, “Helstrom” and “Big Sky”.

The Walt Disney Company acquired “Star” as part of the purchase of 20th Century Fox.  “Star” is a massive network of TV channels around the world with Indian content, along with a streaming service Hotstar.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Disney would be rebranding the existing Star channels in the Netherlands to a different brand “Utsav” (meaning celebration) and now its been confirmed this will be taking effect across Europe including the United Kingdom from January 22nd.

Star Plus HD will be rebranded Utsav Plus HD, Star Gold HD will become Utsav Gold HD and Star Bharat will become Utsav Bharat.

The Utsav logo, infused from the Star logo, signifies stability and progress while the trademark swoosh pays homage to the insurmountable human spirit.

Here is a look at the new logos:

Gaurav Jandwani, Senior Vice President & Business Head (UK, Europe & South Africa), “As much as the past year has been challenging for all of us, it has equally brought out a sense of gratefulness and celebration for all things positive. To reiterate this sense of optimism, it gives me great pleasure to announce the brand refresh of our network from the 22nd January 2021 with the same promise of touching lives through our inspirational characters.”

The new “Star” will be coming to Disney+ on February 23rd.
