Disney+ Originals Coming To OSN In The Middle East & Northern Africa
New details on the availability of Disney+ in the Middle East and Northern Africa have been revealed, as it’s been announced that Disney+ Originals will be available on the OSN streaming service, Wavo, which is relaunching as OSN today. However, there are no imminent plans to launch the Disney+ standalone platform in the region and it’s the first time content of Disney+ has been distributed through a third party provider.
The full catalogue of shows will be rolling out from April 9th.

This unique distribution strategy, designed specifically for this region, will provide fans and families the opportunity to enjoy world-class original content and amazing storytelling from our extensive portfolio of brands right now in these difficult times.”
Said Amit Malhotra, Regional Lead, Content Sales and Distribution, The Walt Disney Company and OSN CEO Patrick Tillieux added in a statement:

By making the OSN streaming service available across all our platforms — TV, mobile, laptops, tablets, games consoles, and streaming boxes — the whole family can enjoy uninterrupted world-class entertainment unrivalled by any other platform.”
A monthly subscription to OSN’s video-on-demand service is priced at $9.50 per month and is available in 17 regional markets, including Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. OSN is available on osn.com, iOS and Android mobile apps, Apple TV, Android TV and Samsung and LG TVs.
This deal will no doubt provide extra revenue for the Walt Disney Company, especially with so many income sources being removed such as its theme park division. At least years Investors Day event, it was announced that it would take 2 years for Disney+ to be rolled out globally, so this deal with OSN, will allow people in those regions early access to shows like Star Wars: The Mandalorian.
