Disney+ Launches In Japan
The global rollout of Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+, continues today as it launches in Japan. It is priced at $6.49 (JPY700) per month and is also part of an exclusive partnership with local telecom giant NTT Docomo.
Disney+ will also replace the existing Japanese streaming platform, Disney Deluxe, with existing subscribers will be automatically transferred over to Disney+.
Disney+ will include more than 500 feature films and 100 series from franchises including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic such as Frozen, Aladdin, Captain Marvel, Toy Story and many more. It will also include Disney+ Originals such as “The Mandalorian”, “Lady and the Tramp” and “Togo”.

To tie in with the launch of Disney+ in Japan, Disney will be holding a special online event on Sunday, June 14th from 17:00, which will include some exclusive videos.
Will you be subscribing to Disney+ in Japan?
I was super excited for this to finally come to my home in Japan; mainly so my kids could have access to the library in both languages. Sadly, it really is only Disney Deluxe, rebranded. Just like Amazon, Hulu, and others, it is a wholly separate company and service than the US or versions accessible internationally. The Japanese FAQ tersely dismisses users who inquire about the ability to access the service with their international accounts, saying "D+ Japan is a service for this country only. If you want to use Disney+ accounts from other countries, please go to that country." This conflicts with the guidance from the US support site that D+ accounts can be used anywhere the service is available, though content may be different. Further, I had trouble finding content on D+ Japan that includes the original English audio or even subtitles. I'd have to subscribe in two countries plus use VPN to share English versions with my kids. Really disappointed all around. ?
Does Disney+ Japan had launched Studio Ghibli movies and TV shows in Japan?
how to signup for disney japan?it rejects my international credit card, i just need to see sofia the first forever royal in japanese, i was no lucky with perfect dark it always says port is not open but i open ed all ports on avast firewall, is there someone selling accounts?
As an English speaking family I am also extremely disappointed that D+ doesn't automatically include standard English audio and subtitles. My children don't speak Japanese and that makes the offering even less. Would love for D+ to also service the English speaking/international community in Japan.
