Disney+ is still 2 months away from launching, but for those living in the Netherlands, Disney is now running a free trial on Android devices for its new streaming platform.

On the Google Play store, a trial version of the Disney+ app is now available, but only on Android devices in the Netherlands. The trial is completely free and has limited content available.

Update – It has also launched on other devices including Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Xbox One, PS4 and Chromecast.

From the screenshots in the Google Play store, a few new titles have been confirmed including Freaky Friday, Herbie, Tinker Bell Fairy movies, The Jungle Book, Jessie and many more.

It also confirmed they are offering a “Collection” section, which will group together movies and shows into collections, which will make it much easier to navigate.

Launching trial versions in other countries is common for online services and are sometimes known as soft launches.

Here are the details on the app from the Google Play Store:

Dutch subscribers will enjoy free access to the service until the official launch on 12 November.

Disney+ is the new home on your Android for unlimited access to your favourite movies and series from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more. Join now to enjoy unprecedented access to the classics you love from the world’s most iconic brands – with more to come later this year.

Coming at launch on 12 November, subscribers will enjoy never-before-seen new original movies, series, documentaries, and shorts made exclusively for the service.

With a subscription to Disney+, every movie and every series is available to download and watch where you want, when you want. Stream on up to 4 devices at the same time, and personalise each profile with custom avatars.

Start your free trial now.

With Disney+, you get:
• Unlimited access to classic movies and back-seasons of your favorite series
• Worry-free watching built just for kids with dedicated profiles for kids 7 and under
• Unlimited downloads so you can take Disney+ with you
• Up to 7 profiles and 4 concurrent streams per account

Here is a closer look at the trial version:

This trial period will give Disney insight into how users are experiencing Disney+, through data from users and feedback, which will ultimately give a better experience to everyone who subscribes, since this feedback can mean they can adjust the app as they go.

A Dutch person here, there's quite some content available in our region. What I noticed is that you can screenshot the app itself but not streams like I expected. Also: no scenes got cut from movies like Dumbo or the Aristocats as far as I can see. Mary Poppins Returns is already available here, and There's quite some content although shows such as Breakthrough of National Geographic and Dumbo (2019) are not yet available.
