Just ahead of Disney’s upcoming Investors Day, where details on the new streaming service, Disney+, will be revealed, Disney have announced details on the Monsters Inc spinoff series, Monsters At Work, which will be exclusive to Disney+.

Disney announced a Monsters Inc sequel was in the works for Disney+ over a year ago, but we’ve heard nothing on the project since.

Monsters At Work will see both John Goodman (Sulley) and Billy Crystal (Mike Wazowski) return. Other returning cast include John Ratzenberger (Yeti), Jennifer Tilly (Celia) and Bob Peterson will be returning as Roze, who is twin sister to his original Monster’s, Inc. character, Roz. Other new voice actors include Ben Feldman, Kelly Marie Tran, Henry Winkler, Lucas Neff, Alanna Ubach, Stephen Stanton and Aisha Tyler.

Monsters At Work will take place 6 months after the movie finished and will focus on Ben Feldman’s character Tylor Tuskmon, who is an eager and talented mechanic on the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team who dreams of working on the Laugh Floor alongside Mike and Sulley. The series is due to be released in 2020.

Kelly Marie Tran (who played Rose in Star Wars: The Last Jedi) will be playing the part of Val Little, who is Tylor’s lifelong friend and confidante. Henry Winkler will be playing a scatterbrained boss called Fritz. Lucas Neff will voice a plumber called Duncan and Alanna Ubach is playing Cutter, who is the officious rule follower. And Stephen Stanton will be playing a bumbling custodial team Smitty and Needleman, With Aisha Tyler playing Tylor’s mom, Millie Tuskmon.

Monsters at Work is being produced by Disney Television Animation, with Bobs Gannaway developing and executive producing the series. Ferrell Barron will be acting as a producer, with Kat Good and Rob Gibbs directing.

More details are expected to be revealed on Thursday during its Investors Day event. It also seems like the series is focusing on new characters, with cameos from existing characters such as Mike and Sulley. Which will no doubt keep develop costs down.
