Disney has announced that it will be increasing the price of Hulu’s live TV package by $5 a month, but will be adding Disney+ and ESPN+ into the package.

Subscribers have been informed via email today, and the new price is going into effect from December 21st 2021.

All Hulu subscriptions with Live TV will now include Disney+ and ESPN+.  The new price is $69.99 a month for the ad-supported version and $75.99 for the ad-free version.

For existing subscribers, who already have Hulu Live TV with the Disney Bundle, this will actually reduce the price per month.

During Disney’s last quarterly financial results, it was revealed that 4 million people were subscribed to the Hulu Live TV package, but it wasn’t clear how many weren’t subscribed to the Disney Streaming Bundle package.

This move will also no doubt slightly raise the number of Disney+ subscribers in the United States. It will also help streamline the number of packages available to consumers in the United States.

The Hulu Live TV bundle includes:

  • Stream 75+ top Live and On Demand TV channels, including sports, news, and entertainment
  • Get unlimited access to the largest streaming library (ad-supported). Enjoy full seasons of exclusive series, current episodes, hit movies, Originals, kids shows, and more
  • Watch on 2 screens at the same time
  • Record Live TV with 50 hours of Cloud DVR storage
  • Watch Live TV online and on iOS, Android, Roku, Fire TV & Fire Stick, Apple TV (4th gen), Chromecast, Xbox One & Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Samsung (select TV models), LG (select TV models), and Nintendo Switch – more devices coming soon

What do you think of Hulu Live TV, including Disney+ and ESPN+ in the package?

While I know that everyone is not a sports fan, I loved when they added the ESPN+ content to the Hulu app so I did not have to exit and enter apps repeatedly. I hope they will do the same with Disney+.

This seems enviable this would happen at some point. I'm still confused how if ESPN just the NHL back for broadcasting rights (in addition to TBS/TNT & all other Sister channels) why you still need to get ESPN+ to watch the rest of the NHL games. Plus I only got ESPN+ because I thought that was a workaround to get my local NHL team's games since the old Fox Sports/now Baily Sports Network no longer has an agreement w/Hulu, YouTube TV, or any other streaming site except for Directv. I found out that is not the case since the stupid blackout rules still apply. The next HULU needs to make is reach an agreement with Sinclair Media Group, who owns Bailey Sports Network, to bring back local regional sports channels as a part of the basic package again.

I already have Disney+ through Roku separate from Hulu. Do I need to cancel my Disney+ in Roku?
