In a surprise removal, Disney+ has removed the documentary “Deep Blue” from the streaming service in the United States and Canada.

Perfect for nature fans and families who love live-action adventure, “Deep Blue” is an epic underwater exploration into the secret lives of sea creatures! You’ll be led on a fascinating voyage through awesome aquatic realms where humans have rarely dared to go. You’ll waddle with playful penguins, dart with lightning speed through schools of sharks, ride over stormy waves with massive whales, encounter families of polar bears and seals, and even see alien-like creatures so rare they have never been seen before on film! With a stirring musical score, this acclaimed movie comes from the creators of the landmark BBC series “The Blue Planet.”

This month has been one of the worst months for removals of content from Disney+ in the US.  Following the removal of other titles like “Fantastic Four“, “Ever Again”, “Maleficent” and many more.

The majority of titles are moved from Disney+ due to previous contracts made before Disney+ was created and unlike other streaming services, Disney+ doesn’t announce these removals in advance.

It’s unknown when or if this title will return to Disney+, as the film is distributed by Miramax Films, which Disney sold back in 2010.

A Miramax film on Disney+?! Wow that’s surprising considering ViacomCBS who currently owns a minority stake of Miramax has Paramount+ which I have no interest in getting because I find the content there pretty weak and I could watch CBS’ NFL games (I’m a Jacksonville Jaguars fan for those who care) on my antenna. It may likely be on Paramount+ since many of Miramax’s films are on there.

And I didn’t know Maleficent was removed again, but I didn’t like it so it wasn’t a huge loss for me. So 8 films got removed from Disney+ which is suprising.
