Last month, Scarlett Estevez shared a photo on her Instagram of the latest issue of the J-14 Magazine, confirming that her upcoming Disney Channel Original Film “Christmas Again”, would be coming to the Disney Channel on December 3rd and that it would also be coming to Disney+ on Friday 10th December.

Today, Disney has officially announced that the film will now be released a week earlier on Disney+, going day and date with the Disney Channel premiere date.  This marks the first time a Disney Channel Original Movie has debuted on both Disney+ and the Disney Channel at the same time.

It’s also a massive shift from the strategy being used last year, where DCOM’s were taking up to 6 months from their premiere date to arrive on Disney+.  Also this week, it was revealed that the second “Disney Holiday Magic Quest” would be also premiering on both Disney+ and the Disney Channel on the same day, hopefully, this is a trend that continues with films and shows being shared between the two outlets.

“Christmas Again” stars Scarlett Estevez as Rowena “Ro”, who is a high-spirited teenager that is experiencing a lackluster Christmas. Ro isn’t handling her parents’ divorce well. She wants her life back the way it was—her parents back together, her dad’s new girlfriend and son out of the picture, and their family traditions to remain the same. After a disappointing celebration with her family, including her sister Gabriela “Gabby,” Abuela Sofia and Abuelo Hector, she makes a wish to a neighborhood Santa for a “do-over” and unexpectedly finds herself reliving Christmas day over and over … and over again. Now, in order to break the strange magical loop, Ro must learn to appreciate her loving family as it is, as well as the true meaning of Christmas.

Also starring in “Christmas Again” is Daniel Sunjata and Alexis Carra as Ro’s parents, Mike and Carolina; Ashlyn Jade Lopez as Gabby; Priscilla Lopez as Abuela Sofia; Beth Lacke as Diane; Tony Amendola as Abuelo Hector; and veteran comedic actor Gary Anthony Williams as Santa.

Filmed on location in Chicago, “Christmas Again” was directed by Andy Fickman (“Race to Witch Mountain”) and written by Doan La (“Black Friday”). Fickman also serves as an executive producer with long-time producing partner Betsy Sullenger (“Liv & Maddie”).

Are you looking forward to watching “Christmas Again” on Disney+ on December 3rd?
