The upcoming Captain Marvel sequel has found its director, according to Deadline, Candyman director Nia Da Costa will be taking the helm, after meeting with Kevin Feige last weekend.

Nia Da Costa’s newest film is a sequel of Candyman and is set to come to cinemas in October.

Currently, Captain Marvel 2 is due to be released in cinemas on July 8th 2022 and will see Brie Larson return in the role of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel.    Unlike the first movie, it won’t be set in the 1990s, but will be in the current timeline, and the film has been written by Wandavision writer, Megan McDonnell.

The upcoming Disney+ series, Ms Marvel is expected to crossover with Captain Marvel 2.
