Following the release of the finale of “The Falcon And The Winter Soldier” on Disney+, THR is reporting that Marvel is currently developing a fourth Captain America film.
The film will be co-written by Malcolm Spellman, who is the head writer and showrunner on “The Falcon And The Winter Soldier”. Another writer from the series, Dalan Musson, will also be co-writing the film.
No casting details have yet been revealed for the project. It is likely to continue the story from “The Falcon And The Winter Soldier”, with the new Captain America, Sam Wilson, who Anthony Mackie plays. It’s unclear if Chris Evans will also be returning to play the original Captain America, Steve Rogers. A director has not yet been attached to the film.
With “The Falcon And The Winter Soldier” being the biggest show so far on Disney+, taking the new Captain America onto the big screen will no doubt be just as popular. Though many might have hoped another series, “Captain America And The Winter Soldier”, was coming next.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige had previously said that Disney+ shows and films would be much more interconnected, so having “The Falcon And The Winter Soldier” dealing with Sam taking up the mantle, a fourth film can jump straight into the action and deal with the aftermath of this series.
