In April, Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland is getting lots of movies added, including many classics from Disney, Touchstone and 20th Century Studios from multiple eras and in many different genres. In April, due to cinemas still being closed, Disney+ is also getting the Oscar-nominated film,  “Nomadland” before it arrives in cinemas in May.

Nomadland

A woman in her sixties who, after losing everything in the Great Recession, embarks on a journey through the American West, living as a van-dwelling modern-day nomad.

Nomadland debuts on Disney+ on Friday 30th April.



Armageddon

NASA astronauts observe that a large asteroid will hit earth in the next eighteen days and destroy life. They realise that their only hope of survival is Harry Stamper, an oil driller.

This epic blockbuster is arriving on Disney+ on Friday 30th April.


Dangerous Minds

Michelle Pfeiffer stars as former Marine LouAnne Johnson who leaves an officer’s commission and a nine-year military career to pursue her dream of becoming an English teacher. However, while earning her credentials at a Northern California high school, she is assigned to a group of students who change her life forever.

Dangerous Minds arrives on Disney+ on Friday 9th April.



Father Of The Bride

Young at heart, and hardly ready for the parenting part of his life to be over, George Banks can scarcely conceive that the 22-year-old apple of his paternal eye, Annie, is old enough to date boys, let alone march down the aisle with one of them. Loath to accept his son-in-law-to-be, Bryan MacKenzie – seen by everyone else as the perfect catch – as well as the flamboyant wedding coordinator Franck, George struggles with the day-to-day traumas wrought by the two most expensive – and fateful – words in his daughters vocabulary “I do”.


Father Of The Bride – Part 2

Having just married off his cherished daughter, George Banks is ready to get footloose and fancy-free! So when his daughter and his wife Nina both announce they are pregnant, George finds himself in one outrageous situation after another – desperately trying to recapture the wild and crazy days of his youth!

The 25th Hour

Monty Brogan, a drug dealer in New York, spends his last 24 hours of freedom before he goes to jail for seven years reconnecting with his father, friends and girlfriend.

The 25th Hour is arriving on Disney+ on Friday 30th April.



South Pacific (1959)

Nurse Nellie Forbush (Mitzi Gaynor) of the U.S. Navy falls for middle-aged French plantation owner Emile De Becque (Rossano Brazzi), but recoils upon discovering that he’s fathered two mixed-race children. When Nellie leaves him, the heartbroken Emile agrees to take on a dangerous espionage mission. In his absence, Nellie struggles to reconcile her prejudices with her love for him — and after she spends time with his children and comes to care for them, fears that Emile may not return alive.

This classic 1950s film is arriving on Disney+ on Friday 30th April.


Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie

When Edina and Patsy, two glamorous elderly socialites, are accused of killing supermodel Kate Moss, they escape to France and attempt to regain their wealth and fortune.

These two British icons arrive on Disney+ on Friday 23rd April.


Gnomeo & Juliet

A version of Shakespeare’s play, set in the world of warring indoor and outdoor gnomes. Garden gnomes Gnomeo and Juliet have as many obstacles to overcome as their quasi namesakes when they are caught up in a feud between neighbors. But with plastic pink flamingos and lawnmower races in the mix, can this young couple find lasting happiness?


Gnomeo and Juliet is coming to Disney+ on Friday 2nd April.


Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

A young boy named Jake discovers a house full of children with supernatural powers run by Miss Peregrine. Soon, he must help protect their home from terrifying enemies called Hollowgasts.

This great Tim Burton film arrives on Disney+ on Friday 23rd April


Prometheus

After a clue to mankind’s origins is discovered, explorers are sent to the darkest corner of the universe. Their different expectations take a toll on them when they find something unimaginable.

This Aliens prequel will arrive on Disney+ on Friday 16th April


The Help

Based on one of the most talked about books in years and a #1 New York Times best-selling novel, The Help is a provocative and inspiring look at what happens when a southern town’s unspoken code of rules and behavior is shattered by three courageous women who strike up an unlikely friendship.

The Help will arrive on Disney+ on Friday 2nd April


People Like Us

Sam attends his estranged father’s funeral where he learns that the latter has a daughter from another woman. Things get complicated when Sam is asked to deliver the inheritance to his stepsister.

People Like Us will arrive on Disney+ on Friday 2nd April


Sunshine

A team of astronauts is assigned the huge responsibility of saving the sun. Things, however, take an ugly turn when an accident occurs and the lives of the crew members are endangered.


Sunshine arrives on Disney+ on Friday 16th April.


Predators

A mixed bag of mercenaries and militia people find themselves on an alien planet that acts as a game preserve where they are being hunted. They must join forces to combat a merciless race of aliens.

You’ll be able to hunt down Predators on Disney+ on Friday 16th April.


Third Man on the Mountain

Rudi, the son of a mountain climber learns about his father’s death who tried to conquer the Motterhorn Mountain. He takes it upon himself to climb the mountain and fulfill his father’s dream.

This classic Disney film will arrive on Disney+ on Friday 16th April


Star Wars: Caravan of Courage

When a family’s spacecraft crashes on the forest moon of planet Endor, teenage son Mace (Eric Walker) and his little sister, Cindel (Aubree Miller), find themselves separated from their parents. Soon these lost children encounter the Ewoks, the small and furry warriors who call the moon home. With the help of these adorable yet fearless natives, brother and sister set out on a quest to rescue their parents from the grip of a vicious monster known as the Gorax.


Star Wars: Ewoks: The Battle for Endor

Marauders raid the Ewok village and steal a power supply they believe to be magical. Wicket helps Cindel escape the evil witch Charal, and they befriend a hermit who may help them save the village.

Both of the Ewok films will arrive on Disney+ on Friday 2nd April.


Fright Night

Following several deaths in his neighbourhood, Charley starts suspecting that his neighbour Jerry is a vampire. The only person willing to help him is Peter, a man who claims to be a vampire killer.

Fright Night will arrive on Disney+ on Friday 2nd April



Squanto: A Warrior’s Tale

It’s the 17th century, and Native American Squanto (Adam Beach) roams free in the New World until he’s captured by visiting sailors who take him back to England. Monk Brother Daniel (Mandy Patinkin) teaches him social customs, but other Englishmen aren’t as kind. Squanto becomes the unwilling star of performances that highlight his fighting skills, but he eventually engineers a return trip to America. He finds that his home has changed forever, and he must chart a new path for his people.

Squanto: A Warrior’s Tale is coming to Disney+ on Friday 16th April.


Morgan

A corporate troubleshooter (Kate Mara) is sent to a remote, top-secret location, where she is to investigate and evaluate a terrifying accident. She learns the event was triggered by a seemingly innocent “human,” who presents a mystery of both infinite promise and incalculable danger.

This 20th Century Studios film arrives on Disney+ on Friday 23rd April.


White Fang 2: Myth of the White Wolf

The story revolves around the White Fang and Henry who get washed away by the ocean current. They land up in a tribal area and help the tribals in saving their sacred land.

White Fang 2: Myth of the White Wolf will be added to Disney+ on Friday 30th April.


The Island at the Top of the World

An American archaeologist, lecturing in Norway at the beginning of the 20th century, embarks on a strange mission to find the young son of a wealthy Englishman who has mysteriously disappeared in the Arctic Circle. With the help of a French aeronaut and an Eskimo guide, he discovers a verdant valley, populated for over 1,000 years by time-forgotten Vikings.

This classic Disney film will be available on Disney+ on Friday 9th April


Man of the House

Despite having a dangerous criminal with a vendetta after him, attorney Jack Sturges (Chevy Chase) has a tougher adversary to worry about — his girlfriend’s son, Ben (Jonathan Taylor Thomas). As Sturges and Ben’s mom, Sandy (Farrah Fawcett), become more serious, Ben increasingly ups his efforts to sabotage the relationship, since he has no intention of giving up his prime spot in the household dynamic. Sturges is determined to connect with Ben, but Ben is going to make him work for it.

Man of the House is coming to Disney+ on Friday 9th April.


The Big Year

Three avid bird-watchers pursue the winner’s title to achieve the world record of spotting the highest number of birds during the Big Year event as the title holds a special meaning for each one.

The Big Year is coming to Disney+ on Friday 16th April.


Baby’s Day Out

Three bumbling crooks pose as photographers to kidnap the son of a millionaire. But the baby turns out to be smarter than them, making it difficult for them to hold on to him.
