Disney’s ABC has announced new details on an upcoming epic, generation-spanning drama called “Promised Land”, which is about two Latinx families vying for wealth and power in California’s Sonoma Valley.
The series will star John Ortiz as Joe Sandoval, Cecilia Suárez as Lettie Sandoval, Augusto Aguilera as Mateo, Christina Ochoa as Veronica Sandoval, Mariel Molino as Carmen Sandoval, Tonatiuh as Antonio Sandoval, Andres Velez as Carlos, Katya Martín as Juana and Rolando Chusan as Billy.
The latest addition to the cast is Bellamy Young, who will be playing a character called Margaret Honeycroft. She has previously starred in ABC’s “Scandal”, Fox’s “Prodigal Son” and Disney’s “A Wrinkle In Time”.
“Promised Land” is written and executive produced by Matt Lopez. Adam Kolbrenner and Maggie Malina also serve as executive producers. Executive producer Michael Cuesta will also direct.
The series is produced by ABC Signature, which means it will air on ABC in the US and be available on Hulu. While internationally, the series should be released on Disney+ as a Star Original. No release date has yet been announced for “Promised Land”.
