Production on the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones movie is currently underway and will see Harrison Ford return in the title role.

According to Deadline, Antonio Banderas has joined the cast, alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook and Shaunette Renée Wilson.

The upcoming film will be directed by James Mangold, who has taken over from Steven Spielberg, though he will still be heavily involved in the film as a producer.  John Williams is also returning to score the music for the film.

No details have been revealed over what character Antonio will be playing in the film, nor have any details on the film’s plot been released.

Antonio Banderas has previously starred in “Desperado”, “Shrek 2”, “Spy Kids”, and “Zorro”.

Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel will also be producers on the film.   Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth and James Mangold co-wrote the script.

The fifth Indiana Jones movie will be released on 29th July 2022.
