New casting details have been revealed for the upcoming live-action version of the classic animated film, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”.

This new film is going to star Rachel Zegler (West Side Story) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman).  It will be directed by Marc Webb, who has previously directed both “Amazing Spider-Man” films and most recently, some episodes of the Disney+ Original anthology series, “Just Beyond”.

Disney has also brought in Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the duo behind some of the original songs from “La La Land”, to create new songs for the new film.  Production on the new film is due to begin in the United Kingdom this spring.

According to THR, Andrew Burnap has joined the film as the male lead character.  He has previously starred in “The Chaperone” and “Spare Room”. He will also be starring in the upcoming FX series, “Under the Banner of Heaven”.

The DisInsider has also revealed that Andrew Burnap will not be playing an established character like The Prince or the Huntsman, and instead will be playing a new character called, Jonathan. He is described as a man with plenty of swagger and a twinkle in his eye, Jonathan has turned to Robin Hood-like thievery to provide for himself and his friends. Entranced by Snow White’s kindness and courage, he soon finds himself falling in love and following her into battle.

Are you looking forward to the new version of “Snow White”?
