At the end of the first season of Marvel Studios Disney+ series, “Loki”, it was announced that it would be returning for a second season.

In the first season of Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” which is available exclusively on Disney+, features the mercurial God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow. The series, described as a crime–thriller meets epic–adventure, takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame”, when the 2012 Loki takes the Tesseract—from there Loki lands in the hands of the Time Variance Authority (TVA), which is outside of the timeline, concurrent to the current day Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Very little has been officially announced regarding the second season, but during a recent interview with Wired Owen Wilson confirmed that he will be back for Season 2.

“Is Owen Wilson coming back to Loki? Um… yes. He is coming back to Loki, and I think we’re going to begin filming that pretty soon. I had a great time working on Loki. I really enjoyed Tom Hiddleston and all the people on that [show].”

Owen Wilson won’t be the only actor returning for the second season as Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who played Judge Ravonna Renslayer in the first season, spoke with Pop Culture, and also shared a small update on her character returning for the second season:

“Oh, my God. You know I can’t say anything about Loki… the Marvel police will come along and just take me away. But no, I’m excited that it’s happening, and I really love my character. I think she’s unexpected and complex. And so, I’m excited to go to some deeper, darker places with her as well.”

Filming is set to begin late this year, so it might be a while before we see the second season of “Loki” on Disney+.

The first season of “Loki” is available on Disney+ now.
