Disney’s FX has is developing a pilot for a new remake of the British cult comedy classic, “Peep Show”, which is going to be written by executive producer, Stefani Robinson, who has previously worked on FX’s “Atlanta” and “What We Do In The Shadows”.

FX has revealed that Minnie Driver and Amandla Jahava have joined the show and will be playing the lead characters, who David Mitchell and Robert Webb played in the original British version.

Minnie Driver has previously starred in ABC’s “Speechless” and 20th Century Studio’s “Rosaline”.  She will also be starring in the upcoming Searchlight Pictures film, “Chevalier”.  Amandla Jahava has previously starred in HBO’s “Rap Sh*t “.

The show will follow the relationship between a long-suffering assistant (Jahava) and her boss (Driver), an emotionally unstable tech entrepreneur.

It will be directed and executive produced by Yana Gorskaya, who has previously worked on FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows“.  FX Productions is producing the pilot. Stefani Robinson will write the half-hour pilot and exec produce alongside “Atlanta” exec producer Dianne McGunigle, Jesse Armstrong and Bain, as well as Hannah Mackay and Ben Farrell for “Objective Fiction”, which produced the original.

This isn’t the first time the Channel 4 show has been attempted to be adapted for the American market,  with FX developing a script in 2019 by Superstore” writer and co-exec producer Karey Dornetto.  Starz tried to make an attempt in 2016, with Fox trying in 2005 and Spike in 2008.  None of which were able to get going.

Should the pilot get the go-ahead to a series,, we should expect to see the series on FX and Hulu in the United States, and released as a Star Original on Star+ in Latin America and on Disney+ around the world.
