Ever since Disney purchased 20th Century Fox, Marvel fans have been excited about seeing Mutants joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and slowly, Marvel Studios has been introducing X-Men characters, such as with the debut of Professor X in “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness”, where Patrick Stewart reprised his role from the “X-Men” films in an alternative reality.

There was even a playful nod to Quicksilver in “WandaVision”, as Evan Peters returned to our screens as Wanda’s brother, Pietro Maximoff, though that turned out to be nothing but a cheap gag.

In the Disney+ series, “Ms Marvel”, there was a mention of Kamala Khan’s DNA being mutated and the theme song from the classic 1990s animated “X-Men” series was referenced.  Plus, next year, Marvel Studios is reviving the classic animated series for a brand new “X-Men ’97” Disney+ series.

In the upcoming third “Deadpool 3” film, both Deadpool and Wolverine will be leaping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, along with many other characters from 20th Century Fox’s Marvel films, such as Electra.

And most recently, in “The Marvels”, during a post-credit scene, Monica Rambeau, played by Teyonah Paris, wakes up in an alternative universe that introduces Dr. Henry “Hank” McCoy, aka Beast.    With Kelsey Grammer reprising the role he starred as in “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and “X-Men: The Last Stand”.   Though the character has undergone a drastic redesign in “The Marvels”, becoming a CGI version that looks more like Beast from the animated series.

Recently, Kelsey Grammer spoke with The Wrap and was asked if audiences would see him returning as Beast again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, to which he replied:

“It is my hope that you will [see him again]. I can say with a certain amount of confidence that you will. I would love to.”

Kelsey also explained how he had such a strong response to his cameo in “The Marvels” and said that “a lot of people got in touch” with him after they saw it.   And he also explained that:

“I’ve always wanted to play him again. I see him as an extraordinary character, a real character of gravitas and importance in our culture.  I’m delighted Beast is back and hope he’s back in a real way.”

With Marvel Studios heavily leaning in on nostalgia and playing with the concept of the multiverse to bring together all the previous films and shows from across the decades, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see more characters from X-Men pop up during the Multiverse Saga, until eventually, Marvel Studios introduces a new look X-Men into the core timeline.  I also wouldn’t be surprised if Beast appears in the upcoming Deadpool 3 film.

While we wait for “The Marvels” to arrive on Disney+, you can catch both “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and “X-Men: The Last Stand” on Disney+ in many countries around the world, and in the US, the films are also available on other platforms including Starz and Max.
