Disney’s ABC Signature Studios is currently producing a new series called “Saint X” for Disney’s streaming services.

“Saint X” is based on Alexis Schaitkin’s 2020 novel and is a psychological drama told via multiple timelines and perspectives that explores the girl-gone-missing genre. It’s a show about how a young woman’s mysterious death during a Caribbean vacation creates a traumatic ripple effect that eventually pulls her surviving sister into a dangerous pursuit of the truth.

This series is going to star Josh Bonzie (The Politician), Jayden Elijah (School’s Out Forever) and West Duchovny (The Magicians).

Deadline is reporting that the series is going through a major casting change as Victoria Pedretti has departed the show over creative differences.  She will be replaced by Alycia Debnam-Carey, who has previously starred in “Fear The Walking Dead” and “The 100”.  It’s unclear if her filming “Saint X” will impact on the filming of the eighth season of “Fear The Walking Dead”, which is due to begin in June/July.

Alycia Debnam-Carey will be playing the role of Emily, a sharp and ambitious woman whose carefully constructed, seemingly perfect life begins to crumble.

Victoria Pedretti left the project before the recent walkout by crew members over a payment dispute.

“Saint X” is an eight-part series and is being written by Leila Gerstein, who has previously worked on “The Handmaid’s Tale” and will be executive producing the project. It will be directed by Dee Rees, who is also executive producing the show.

Other executive producers include Stephen Williams will also executive produce with David Levine and Zack Hayden for Anonymous Content, Aubrey Graham pka Drake, Adel “Future” Nur, and Jason Shrier for Dreamcrew Entertainment, Alexis Schaitkin, and Steve Pearlman.

“Saint X” will be released on Hulu in the United States and as a Star Original on Disney+ internationally.
