Each month, I bring you my list of the top series available on Disney+, which includes series from across the Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, National Geographic, and Pixar franchises.
With over 500 different series available on Disney+ now, this list is here to give you a selection of different content available, mixing together Disney+ Originals, classic series, new shows, documentaries, and much more.

This National Geographic series looks into a new “treasure map” of the Maya world that is transforming what we thought we knew of one of the world most mysterious ancient civilizations. I’ve visited many Mayan sites throughout Central America and found this to be an extremely interesting series.
98) Disney Junior Mira
Appointed to the role of royal detective by the queen of Jalpur, a resourceful commoner named Mira sets out on mystery-solving adventures along with her friend Prince Neel, creative cousin Priya, and comical mongoose sidekicks Mikku and Chikku.
97) The Book Of Boba Fett
“The Book of Boba Fett,” a thrilling Star Wars adventure that finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.
96) Dog With A Blog
Avery Jennings and Tyler James are step-siblings who are complete opposites. The family faces an even bigger adjustment when their new dog, Stan, can talk and also has a blog, unbeknownst to the family. Stan uses his blog to discuss the happenings in the Jennings-James household. Avery and Tyler later learn of Stan’s talking ability and agree to keep it a secret from their parents.
95) Kim Possible
Kim Possible is an animated series about a teenage crime fighter who has the task of dealing with worldwide, family, and school issues every day. The show is action-oriented, but also has a light-hearted atmosphere and often lampoons the conventions and clichés of the secret-agent and action genres.
94) Alias
Sydney Bristow, an agent who has been tricked to believe she is working for the U.S. government, is actually working for a criminal organization named the Alliance of Twelve. Upon learning this, Sydney becomes a double agent for the real CIA.
93) Dr Oakley Yukon Vet
Spanning thousands of acres and incorporating hundreds of species of animals; Michelle Oakley’s veterinary practise is Yukon tough. There is no such thing as a typical day in Michelle’s practice. House calls can range from expelling dogs anal glands to getting chased down by the very large Arctic musk-ox. Accompanied by her teenage daughters and armed with humour as sharp as scalpel, Michelle deftly juggles being a full-time Veterinarian, wife and doctor; taking us into unexplored and unexamined regions of the Yukon.
92) Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney+’s “Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom,” from National Geographic and narrated by the award-winning, fan-favourite Josh Gad, gives viewers a backstage pass to explore the magic of nature within Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and The Seas with Nemo & Friends at EPCOT. Each of the eight episodes dives into the details, unveiling the multifaceted aspects of animal care, conservation and Disney Imagineering and showcases the parks’ magnificent array of more than 300 species and 5,000-plus animals and the herculean tasks their animal care experts undertake to keep things running day and night. If you love the Animal Kingdom theme park, this is a must-watch!

Their strategic thinking, complex emotions and sophisticated language has created a unique and dynamic culture making them more like us than we ever thought possible. This series will change everything you thought you knew about elephants forever.

Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist join forces to take on common enemies as a sinister conspiracy threatens New York City.
89) The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles
At the dawn of the 20th century, Indiana Jones discovered the world. From globetrotting family expeditions as a 9-year-old to the battlefields of World War I as a teenager, Indy’s experiences shaped the heroic, whip-cracking archaeologist he would become. At every turn, Indy encounters history in the making, meeting true-life activists, soldiers, writers, artists, and thinkers who helped influence the world we live in today. While possibly not the best way to enjoy Indiana Jones, this prequel series from the early 90s is still worth a look.
88) Gargoyles
Gargoyles is one of later popular shows from the Afternoon Series in the 1990’s and the series is credited for its relatively dark tone, complex story arcs, and melodrama; character arcs were heavily employed throughout the series, as were Shakespearean themes.
87) Puppy Dog Pals
Fun-loving pug puppies, brothers Bingo and Rolly, have thrill-seeking appetites that take them on exhilarating adventures in their neighborhood and around the globe. Whether helping their owner Bob, assisting a friend in need or exploring with their pal Keia, the pugs’ motto is that life is more exciting with your best friend by your side. Each episode features two 11-minute stories that showcase Bingo and Rolly’s similarities and differences while demonstrating positive lessons about friendship, problem-solving, collaboration, creativity and adventure. This is one of the most popular kids shows available on Disney+.
86) Marvel’s Inhumans
This live action series is often overlooked by Marvel fans due to the bad reception it received, but its still worth checking out. In Marvel’s The Inhumans, it explores the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family of a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers. While it might not be up to the standard of other Marvel shows, I enjoyed learning more about this group of superheroes.
85) Wizards Of Waverly Place
One of most popular Disney Channel series from the noughties, sees Alex, Justin and Max Russo are not your ordinary kids – they’re wizards in training! While their parents run the Waverly Sub Station, the siblings struggle to balance their ordinary lives while learning to master their extraordinary powers.
84) Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.
Set in modern-day Hawai‘i, “Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.” – a coming-of-age dramedy inspired by the hit medical series “Doogie Howser, M.D.” – follows Lahela “Doogie” Kamealoha, a 16-year-old prodigy juggling a budding medical career and life as a teenager. With the support of her caring and comical ‘ohana (family) and friends, Lahela is determined to make the most of her teenage years and forge her own path.
Guiding Lahela (and also complicating things) is her career-driven mother Dr. Clara Hannon who’s also her supervisor at the hospital, her doting father Benny who helps keep her connected to what matters most, her free-spirited older brother Kai, her gregarious younger brother Brian Patrick, her best friend Steph, her surfer crush Walter and her fellow hospital colleagues, Dr. Lee, Charles and Noelani.
83) The Muppets
The Muppets return with a contemporary, documentary-style show, which is similar to “The Office”. For the first time ever, this series explored the Muppets’ personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, breakups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires. If you like this one, you might also want to check out “Muppets Mayhem” too!
82) Chip ‘n’ Dale Rescue Rangers
One of the all time classic animated series from the 1980’s, Disney’s fun-loving chipmunks are re-imagined as the leaders of a team of pint-sized crime-fighters, rounding out the team are two mice, Gadget Hackwrench and Monterey Jack and Zipper, a fly. This was one of the series I used to adore as a child and is one no doubt many more people will be going back to.
81) She-Hulk: Attorney At Law
In Marvel Studios’ “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany)—an attorney specializing in superhuman-oriented legal cases—must navigate the complicated life of a single, 30-something who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk. I really enjoyed this series, but it’s certainly not perfect, but its great to explore a different side of the MCU.
80) Secret Invasion
In Marvel Studios’ new series “Secret Invasion,” set in the present day MCU, Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart the imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity. If you enjoyed the more down to earth style of the MCU, give this show a whirl.
79) Monsters At Work
“Monsters At Work” takes place the day after the Monsters, Incorporated power plant started harvesting the laughter of children to fuel the city of Monstropolis, thanks to Mike and Sulley’s discovery that laughter generates ten times more energy than screams. It follows the story of Tylor Tuskmon, an eager young monster who graduated top of his class at Monsters University and always dreamed of becoming a Scarer until he lands a job at Monsters, Incorporated, and discovers that scaring is out and laughter is in. After Tylor is temporarily reassigned to the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team(MIFT), he must work alongside a misfit bunch of mechanics while setting his sights on becoming a Jokester.
78) The Wonder Years
A coming of age story set in the late 1960s that takes a nostalgic look at a black middle-class family in Montgomery, Alabama through the point-of-view of imaginative 12 year-old Dean. With the wisdom of his adult years, Dean’s hopeful and humorous recollections show how his family found their “wonder years” in a turbulent time. Inspired by the classic series of the same name.
77) Boy Meets World
Boy Meets World is a classic American television sitcom that chronicles the coming of age events and everyday life-lessons of Cory Matthews, a Philadelphian who grows up from a young boy to a married man. And recently Disney brought the characters back for Girl Meets World, so if you fancy going back to where it all started, there are seven seasons available.
76) Secrets Of The Zoo
With nearly 6,000 veterinary cases and well over 100 births each year, the team at the Columbus Zoo has no shortage of incredible drama.
75) Darkwing Duck
Darkwing Duck is one of the most popular series from the Disney Afternoon period in the 1990’s and it featured the eponymous anthropomorphic duck superhero whose alter ego is mild-mannered single quacker Drake Mallard. This one will no doubt be very popular for anyone from the “Afternoon” era.
74) Hawkeye
Marvel Studios’ “Hawkeye” is an original new series set in post–blip New York City where former Avenger Clint Barton aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. But when a threat from his past shows up, Hawkeye reluctantly teams up with Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), a 22–year–old skilled archer and his biggest fan, to unravel a criminal conspiracy.
73) Ms Marvel
Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero megafan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with superpowers, right? This Marvel series is so charming and well worth your time.
72) Home Improvement
The daily trials and tribulations of handyman Tim Taylor, a TV show host raising three boys with help from his loyal co-host, domineering wife, and unseen neighbor. This classic 1990s sitcom will no doubt bring back many memories to older subscribers but also provide new viewers with a look back one of the best family sitcoms from the era.
71) The Proud Family
“The Proud Family” follows the adventures and misadventures of Penny, a 14-year-old African American girl who’s doing her best to navigate through the early years of teen-dom. Penny’s every encounter inevitably spirals into bigger than life situations filled with hi-jinks, hilarity and heart. Her quest to balance her home, school and social lives are further complicated by friends like the sassy Dijonay, Penny’s nemesis LaCienega Boulevardez, her loving, if not over-protective parents and her hip-to-the-groove-granny, Suga Mama. Also check out the new revival, “The Proud Family: Louder & Prouder”.
70) America’s Funniest Home Videos
America’s Funniest Home Videos is the longest-running primetime entertainment show in ABC history. Each week AFV shines the spotlight on hilarious videos. Fans tune in to witness failures and fiascos and to submit their own mishaps for their chance at stardom.
69) Snowdrop
A desperate love story between Youngro, a youthful female freshman student, and Sooho, a prestigious but mysterious university graduate, who one day jumps into her room, at a women’s university dormitory, covered in blood from running away of a dangerous situation. Despite the strict surveillance, she helps him on hiding and healing which develops their relationship that goes against the tragic era of 1987 in Seoul.
68) Big Hero 6: The Series
This series is a sequel to the animated classic and follows Hiro as he now faces daunting academic challenges and the social trials of being the little man on campus. Off campus, the stakes are raised for the high-tech heroes as they must protect their city from an array of scientifically enhanced villains. Though the animation style is slightly different, for fans of the movie, this is worth looking into. All three seasons are now available on Disney+.
68) CAR SOS
For something completely different to anything else on Disney+, this show sees parts-blagging Petrol Head Tim Shaw and Master Mechanic Fuzz Townshend are determined to hunt down charismatic cars with deserving owners and get their pride and joy up and running and back on the road… where they belong.
67) Amphibia
The adventures of 13-year-old, self-centered Anne Boonchuy who is magically transported to the fictitious world of Amphibia, a rural marshland full of frog-people. With the help of an excitable young frog named Sprig, Anne will transform into a hero and discover the first true friendship of her life.
66) One Strange Rock
This series takes viewers on a mind-bending, thrilling journey exploring the fragility and wonder of planet Earth, one of the most peculiar, unique places in the entire universe, brought to life by the only people to have left it behind – the world’s most well known and leading astronauts. The show is hosted by Will Smith and is a very polished documentary series that will get you thinking.
65) Life Below Zero
This National Geographic series allows viewers to go deep into an Alaskan winter to meet six tough and resilient residents as they try to stay one step ahead of storms and man-eating beasts to make it through to spring. The closest neighbour to Sue Aikens is more than 300 miles away. Eric Salitan subsists solely on what he hunts and forages. Chip and Agnes Hailstone catch fish for currency in bartering for supplies, and Andy and Kate Bassich use their pack of sledge dogs for transportation.
64) The Suite Life of Zack & Cody
This classic Disney Channel sitcom tells the story of two 11 year-old identical twins called Zack and Cody, who are the newest residents of Boston’s swanky Tipton Hotel. Living in a suite with their mom Carey, the boys treat the tipton like their own personal playground.
63) Jessica Jones
After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.
62) Drain The Oceans
Maritime mysteries — old and new — come to life in this series, which combines scientific data and digital re-creations to reveal shipwrecks, treasures, and sunken cities on the bottom of lakes, seas and oceans around the world. Another National Geographic series perfect for adults to enjoy. There are also multiple specials available from within the “Drains” franchise including one based on the Titanic and much more.
61) Black-ish
A family man struggles to gain a sense of cultural identity while raising his kids in a predominantly white, upper-middle-class neighborhood. This is one of the most popular comedy series from ABC and well worth checking out.
60) Kingdom Of The White Wolf
Journey to the Arctic with National Geographic Explorer Ronan Donovan to witness a gorgeous and desolate world where wolves hunt, howl and raise their families. As we embed with the pack, experience unprecedented intimacy with a species steeped in legend, rumor and fear. This one-of-a-kind special blends classic blue-chip wildlife filmmaking with immersive, raw and breathless reality to showcase these wolves in their natural habitat. This is one of the newest series available on the early trial of Disney+ in the Netherlands. Highly recommended.
59) Great Migrations
Great Migrations is an epic nature documentary that features the great migrations of animals across the globe. The seven-part show is the largest programming events in the history of National Geographic If you love animal documentaries, this is one of the best and well worth checking out.
58) The Punisher
A former Marine out to punish the criminals responsible for his family’s murder finds himself ensnared in a military conspiracy.
57) Glee
In this musical comedy, optimistic high school teacher Will Schuester tries to refuel his own passion while reinventing the high school’s glee club and challenging a group of outcasts to realize their star potential as they strive to outshine their singing competition while navigating the cruel halls of McKinley High.
56) Star Wars: The Bad Batch
“Star Wars: The Bad Batch” follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in “The Clone Wars”) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch—a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army—each possess a singular exceptional skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.
55) Star Wars: Visions
This series features a collection of shorts, with the first season being created by seven Japanese anime studios that have brought their unique talent and perspective to the Star Wars universe, while the second season features artists from around the world taking a unique take that can’t be seen in the canon films or shows. This series is one of the most interesting and unique Star Wars shows available on Disney+.
54) Behind The Attraction
Peek beyond the magic of Disney Parks to discover what’s Behind the Attraction! From Executive Producers Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia and Brian Volk-Weiss, explore how Imagineers filled the Haunted Mansion with 999 happy haunts, how the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ transformed into Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! (while defying gravity in the process) and why Space Mountain took so long to launch. From the 1950s to today, from Jungle Cruise to “it’s a small world” to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Disney Parks attractions have amazed millions. And this is the story of how they did it. This is a great documentary series for Disney Theme Park fans, with lots of little nuggets of information about these classic attractions.

52) Secrets Of Sulphur Springs
12-year-old Griffin Campbell and his family move to the small town of Sulphur Springs and take ownership of an abandoned hotel rumored to be haunted by the ghost of a girl who disappeared decades ago. Griffin befriends Harper, a bright-eyed, mystery-obsessed classmate and together, they uncover a secret portal that allows them to travel back in time. In the past, they’ll attempt to uncover the key to solving this unsolved mystery, a mystery that affects everyone close to them.
51) Big City Greens
The offbeat adventures of 10-year-old Cricket Green, a mischievous and optimistic country boy who moves to the big city with his wildly out of place family – older sister Tilly, father Bill and Gramma Alice.
50) Ice Road Rescue
On Ice Road Rescue, an elite force of rescue workers battles round-the-clock to keep these roads open. In this season, the men face a new enemy: the extreme weather. Unpredictable changes in temperature, heavy rain and sudden blizzards make this winter the roughest one yet in the ultimate battle of man versus nature.
49) Legend Of The Three Caballeros
This animated series featuring Donald Duck, Jóse Carioca and Panchito Pistoles is only available on Disney+. The trio finds themselves inheritors of a heroic legacy and resume their ancestors’ quest with the aid of a valiant Greek goddess.
48) Running Wild With Bear Grylls
The famed survivalist takes A-list celebrities on journeys into the wildest locations around the world, forcing the stars to push their bodies and minds to the limit to successfully complete the adventure of a lifetime.
47) Wicked Tuna
Fishing is a hard life, and harder with bluefin stocks depleted. In Gloucester, Massachusetts, there’s a special breed of fishermen. For generations, they’ve used rod and reel to catch the elusive bluefin tuna. They depend on these fish for their livelihood, and the competition is brutal. Over the next 10 weeks, the most skilled fishermen will set out in the frigid waters of the North Atlantic in hopes of catching the valuable bluefin tuna. When one bluefin can bring in as much as $20,000—they’ll do whatever it takes to hook up. There is also a spin-off series, Wicked Tuna – Outer Banks available.
46) Good Luck Charlie
One of the few Disney Channel sitcoms that appeals to families, not just for children. It focuses on a Denver family, the Duncans, as they try to adjust to the births of their fourth and fifth children, Charlotte “Charlie” Duncan and Toby Duncan. In each episode, Teddy Duncan creates a video diary containing advice for Charlie about their family and life as a teenager, with each video diary ends with Teddy saying the eponymous phrase, “Good luck, Charlie”. One of the few sitcoms available currently on Disney+.
45) Love, Victor
“Love, Victor” is set in the world of the groundbreaking movie, “Love, Simon,” which was inspired by Becky Albertalli’s acclaimed young adult novel, “Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda,” about a closeted gay teenager who is forced to come out after being blackmailed. The series stars Michael Cimino as Victor, who, like Simon, is on his own journey of self-discovery. Facing challenges at home, navigating the ups and downs of a new high school and exploring his sexual orientation, Victor reaches out to Simon when things become too difficult. All three seasons of this groundbreaking show are available to stream now on Disney+.
44) Raven’s Home
Single mother Raven Baxter panics when she notices that Booker, one of her children, starts showing psychic abilities. There are also multiple seasons of “That’s So Raven” available on Disney+.
43) Grownish
This “Blackish” spinoff series sees Zoey Johnson heading to college and begins her hilarious journey to adulthood but quickly discovers that not everything goes her way once she leaves the nest. This comedy series is not for the younger viewers, but it’s been one of my favourite comedy shows from the last few years.
42) Gordon Ramsey – Uncharted
Globetrotting celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay serves up an epic adventure in “Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted.” He travels around the world meeting with indigenous people to learn about their foods and cultures. In each location, he harvests new ingredients and samples new dishes. He also teams up with local legends to cook feasts to present to the native peoples.
41) American Born Chinese
Based on Gene Luen Yang’s groundbreaking graphic novel that chronicles the trials and tribulations of a regular American teenager whose life is forever changed when he befriends the son of a mythological god. This is the story of a young man’s battle for his own identity, told through family, comedy, and action-packed Kung-Fu. If you enjoyed “Everything, Everywhere All At Once” or fancy a superhero series with a difference, check out this show.
40) Agents Of SHIELD
Agent Phil Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division) puts together a team of agents to investigate the new, the strange and the unknown around the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary.
39) Brain Games
“Brain Games” is a groundbreaking series that uses interactive experiments, misdirection and tricks to demonstrate how our brains create the illusion of seamless reality through our memory, through our sensory perception, and how we focus our attention. With 7 seasons to binge, there is plenty here to give your brain a workout.
38) Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs follows the life of a family of dinosaurs, living in a modern world. They have TV’s, fridges, microwaves, and every modern convenience. This series was extremely popular in the early 1990s and this series is a great trip down memory lane.
37) Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All
For the first time ever, global superstar, Ed Sheeran opens the doors to a definitive and searingly honest view into his private life as he explores the universal themes that inspire his music. This series follows Ed after he learns of life changing news and reveals his hardships and triumphs during the most challenging period of his life. This original 4-part series features exclusive footage behind his iconic hits, never-before-seen personal archive with his friends and family, and epic stadium performances giving insight into Ed’s world. Fans of Ed Sheeran certainly need to watch this fantastic documentary.
36) The Incredible Dr Pol
Set in Central Michigan’s farm country, this reality series follows the work done at Pol Veterinary Services. Specializing in large farm animals, Dr. Pol treats horses, pigs, cows, sheep, alpacas, goats, chickens and even an occasional reindeer. The program also features Dr. Brenda Grettenberger, who has worked with Dr. Pol since 1992. And this month there has been a few new additional series and specials added.
35) The Muppet Show
This classic show from the 80s is a fantastic medley of sweet and mischievous, Jim Henson’s Muppets, including Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, produce a weekly variety show with a range of famous guests. Along for the ride are Gonzo, Fozzie the bear and Scooter — who is the closest thing to a human puppet this series has. If you enjoyed this series, there are a few more Muppets series on Disney+ including the Disney+ Original “Muppets Now”.
34) Phineas & Ferb
Each day, two kindhearted suburban stepbrothers on summer vacation embark on some grand new project, which annoys their controlling sister, Candace, who tries to bust them. Meanwhile, their pet platypus plots against evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz. This is one of the best animation series from recent times and with the new Disney+ Original movie coming soon, this is a perfect opportunity to catch up on the adventures of Phineas and Ferb.
33) Star vs. The Forces of Evil
The biggest new addition to Disney+ this month, which sees an intergalactic warrior Star Butterfly arrive on Earth to live with the Diaz family. She continues to battle villains throughout the universe and high school, mainly to protect her extremely powerful wand, an object that still confuses her.
32) Sonny With A Chance
Allison “Sonny” Munroe makes the leap from the Midwest to Los Angeles to join the cast of “So Random!,” the most popular sketch comedy TV show for kids and tweens. Her fellow young actors are resident teen queen Tawni, super suave Nico, gregarious funnyman Grady and quirky Zora. Now Sonny must somehow balance these new friendships while adjusting to her family’s decidedly different way of life in Hollywood. Meanwhile, Sonny must also contend with heartthrob Chad Dylan Cooper, star of the rival show “MacKenzie Falls,” who makes it known that he thinks his dramatic work is better than her comedy career.
31) The Wonderful World Of Mickey Mouse
In “The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse,” it’s nothing but fun and excitement for Mickey and his best pals – Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto – as they embark on their greatest adventures yet, navigating the curveballs of a wild and zany world where the magic of Disney makes the impossible possible. Each seven-minute short is filled with laugh-out-loud comedy, modern settings, timeless stories, new music and the unmistakable classic art style of the “Mickey Mouse” shorts. The series will include stories inspired by various lands at Disney parks and cameos by classic Disney heritage characters. This show also includes a number of season specials too!
30) The Orville
The crew of a spaceship embarks on an adventurous journey in outer space, four hundred years into the future, where they encounter various dangerous situations. This series might look like a spoof of Star Trek, but it’s actually more enjoyable than most Star Trek series.
29) Tron Rising
TRON: Uprising is part of the TRON franchise and is set between Tron and Tron: Legacy movies, so if you enjoyed the Tron universe, this is worth checking out. A young program named Beck becomes a leader of a revolution in The Grid. Beck is trained by Tron to become a great warrior, teaching him fighting skills and mentoring him as he becomes a powerful leader. Beck’s destiny is to lead a revolution to stop the reign of Clu 2 and his henchman General Tesler, and to lead his home and friends to freedom.
28) The Owl House
“The Owl House” is an animated fantasy-comedy series that follows Luz, a self-assured teenage girl who accidentally stumbles upon a portal to a magical world where she befriends a rebellious witch, Eda, and an adorably tiny warrior, King. Despite not having magical abilities, Luz pursues her dream of becoming a witch by serving as Eda’s apprentice at the Owl House and ultimately finds a new family in an unlikely setting. This is one of the most interesting animated series from Disney in a while.
27) Star Wars Rebels
Set between the events of Star Wars: Episodes III and IV, when the evil Galactic Empire is tightening its grip of power on the galaxy. The motley crew of the starship Ghost make a stand against the Empire. And together, they will face threatening new villains, encounter colourful adversaries, embark on thrilling adventures, and become heroes with the power to ignite a rebellion. If you are a fan of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this is a must-watch and also helps fill in those gaps between the two trilogies.
26) Obi-Wan Kenobi
“Obi-Wan Kenobi” begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. For fans of the prequel trilogy, this is a must watch!
25) X-Men: The Animated Series
Easily my personal favourite Marvel animated show, this series from the 1990’s features lots of different X-Men characters and will introduce you to the world of mutants better than any of the live-action movies. The series showcases how the X-Men fight for mutant rights against hostile Government agencies, whilst at the same time protecting mankind from mutant supremacist Magneto who seeks to destroy the human race in return for the atrocities committed against mutant-kind. For Marvel fans, this is a must-watch.
24) Secrets Of The Whales
“Secrets of the Whales,” from National Geographic, plunges viewers deep within the epicenter of whale culture to experience the extraordinary communication skills and intricate social structures of five different whale species: orcas, humpbacks, belugas, narwhals and sperm whales. Filmed over three years in 24 locations, throughout this epic journey, we learn that whales are far more complex and more like us than ever imagined. This is a stunning documentary that is an easy recommendation for anyone who loves whales!
23) The Beatles: Get Back
The Beatles: Get Back” takes audiences back in time to the band’s January 1969 recording sessions, which became a pivotal moment in music history. The docuseries showcases The Beatles’ creative process as they attempt to write 14 new songs in preparation for their first live concert in over two years. Faced with a nearly impossible deadline, the strong bonds of friendship shared by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr are put to the test. The docuseries is compiled from nearly 60 hours of unseen footage shot over 21 days. It’s a must for Beatles fans.
22) Spider-Man – The Animated Series
There have been many Spider-Man animated series over the years, but the 1990’s series feels closest to the original comics. With 65 episodes, that include a wide variety of different villains and interwoven storylines throughout, it truly raised the bar for animated shows.
21) Moon Knight
When Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life, he discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt. One of my favourite Marvel series so far on Disney+
20) Marvel’s Agent Carter
This series is set back in 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life – Captain America Steve Rogers. If you missed this series when it came out, this is a good way to fill out why Captain America made his decision in Avengers: Endgame.
19) Hostile Planet
This six-part documentary draws attention to the most extraordinary — almost supernatural — accounts of animals that have adapted to the cruellest evolutionary curveballs. Easily one of my favourite series available on Disney+ right now, if you’re only going to watch on an animal documentary, make it this one.
18) Gravity Falls
This series is all about twin brother and sister Dipper and Mabel Pines, who end up on an unexpected adventure when they spend the summer helping their great uncle Stan run a tourist trap in the mysterious town of Gravity Falls, Oregon. This is one of the best modern Disney Channel animated series, that is great for adults and children alike.
17) Marvel’s What If?
“What If…?” flips the script on the MCU, reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways. Marvel Studios’ first animated series focuses on different heroes from the MCU, featuring a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their roles. This is a great animated series from Marvel, with unique stories that Marvel fans will love.
16) Daredevil
Lawyer-by-day Matt Murdock uses his heightened senses from being blinded as a young boy to fight crime at night on the streets of Hell’s Kitchen as Daredevil. One of the best Marvel series from the “Defenders” saga.
15) Hannah Montana
One of the biggest Disney Channel shows of all time and a perfect way to see Miley Cyrus growing up. The show tells the story of Miley Stewart, a typical teenager, but when the lights go down and the curtain goes up, she emerges as the glamorous and talented Hannah Montana. Having the “Best of Both Worlds” is a complicated proposition, and keeping her identity under wraps leads Miley and her friends into some hilarious capers as she tries to balance her normal life with her rock star persona.
14) High School Musical: The Musical – The Series
This drama series has become my non-so secret guilty pleasure on Disney+. A group of East High students countdown to the opening night of their school’s first-ever production of “High School Musical.” Showmances blossom; friendships are tested while new ones are made; rivalries flare and lives are changed forever as these young people discover the transformative power that only a high school drama club can provide. This is one series not to skip.
13) Jessie
This Disney Channel live-action series brings an idealistic teen from rural Texas embarks on the adventure of a lifetime when she decides to leave behind starry nights for big city lights. Thrilled to be on her own and determined not to be intimidated by New York City, she accepts a job as nanny for a high-profile couple with four kids. Helping to keep her moral compass in check are Bertram, the family’s butler, and Tony, the building’s 20-year-old doorman.
12) A Small Light
Twentysomething Miep Gies didn’t hesitate when her boss Otto Frank came to her and asked her to hide his family from the Nazis during World War II. For the next two years, Miep, her husband Jan, and the other helpers watched over the eight souls in hiding in the Secret Annex. And it was Miep who found Anne’s Diary and kept it safe so Otto, the only one of the eight who survived, could later share it with the world as one of the most powerful accounts of the Holocaust. This hard hitting drama series is one of the best shows of 2023 and I’d highly recommend you watch it.
11) The Falcon And The Winter Soldier
Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” is currently the biggest show to arrive come to Disney+ and stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson aka The Falcon, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier. The pair, who came together in the final moments of “Avengers: Endgame,” team up on a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience. This series is one of the best shows of the year and is one of the best reasons to get Disney+ alone.
10) Once Upon A Time
Emma Swan’s past disasters drag her into the small town of Maine. She is the long-lost daughter of a king, who must protect her town from the curse of an evil queen. There is also the spin-off series, Once Upon A Time In Wonderland is also now available on Disney+.
9) Bluey
Bluey follows the adventures of a lovable and inexhaustible six-year-old Blue Heeler puppy who lives with her dad, mum and four-year-old little sister, Bingo. In every episode, Bluey uses her limitless Blue Heeler energy to play elaborate games that unfold in unpredictable and hilarious ways. This animated series is one of the most popular shows on the planet right now and a huge hit among parents!
8) The Santa Clauses
Scott Calvin is back! After being Santa Claus for nearly thirty years, he’s as jolly as ever. But as Christmas declines in popularity, so does his Santa magic. Scott struggles to keep up with the demands of the job, as well as being there for his family. Upon discovering there is a way to retire from his post, Scott considers stepping down as Santa Claus and finding a worthy successor so that he can become a better father and husband. If you enjoyed the original Christmas classic, this should be high on your watchlist during the holiday period.
7) WandaVision
Marvel Studios “WandaVision,” is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) – two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives – begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. This series is, without doubt, one of the best series available on Disney+, its completely crazy and each episode ends on a cliffhanger, making you instantly wanting to watch the next episode. The entire series is available now exclusively on Disney+.
6) The Imagineering Story
Easily my favourite series I’ve watched on Disney+. This 6 part documentary series explores the past, present and future of Walt Disney Imagineering with noted filmmaker Leslie Iwerks. Ms. Iwerks comes from a family with deep Disney history — her grandfather was an early Disney animator and her father is a former Imagineer — and her previous work includes profiles of Pixar Animation Studios and visual effects house Industrial Light & Magic.
5) Star Wars: The Clone Wars
This series fills in the story between “Attack of the Clones” and “Revenge Of The Sith”, where Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Mace Windu and other Jedi Knights lead the Grand Army of the Republic against the droid army of the Separatists. The 7th season of the show is a Disney+ exclusive plus there are over a hundred episodes available, making this one of the most binge-worthy shows on Disney+.
4) The Simpsons
This classic animated sitcom is one of the most popular series on Disney+. It’s set in Springfield, the average American town, the show focuses on the antics and everyday adventures of the Simpson family; Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, as well as a virtual cast of thousands. Since the beginning, the series has been a pop culture icon, attracting hundreds of celebrities to guest star. The show has also made name for itself in its fearless satirical take on politics, media and American life in general. There are 32 seasons of this show, with almost 700 episodes.
3) Star Wars: Andor
The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero. If you enjoyed “Rogue One” and prefer your Star Wars being a little more grown up, this is the show for you.
2) Loki
Marvel Studios’ “Loki” features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new Disney+ series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame”, when “Loki” is taken by the TVA and reveals a whole new world of time travel and alternative timelines. Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. This is personally for me the best Marvel series on Disney+ and is a must watch for Marvel fans, plus the new season is coming in late 2023.
1) Star Wars: The Mandalorian
This is, without doubt, one of the biggest draws for most people subscribing to Disney+ right now. The show is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. It follows the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic. All three seasons are available for fans to enjoy.
