Last year, it was revealed that comedian, Jo Koy, was developing a new series with 20th Television called “Josep”.

The show will follow the comedian, who is best known for his appearances on “Chelsea Lately” and a Netflix standup special “In His Elements”, as a recently divorced Filipino American nurse attempting to navigate dating, fatherhood and a very Filipino mother who loves to “help.”

It’s been revealed by Deadline, that the project is going to be getting a pilot at ABC.  Should the pilot be well received, then it would then be made into a series.  Which will air on ABC and Hulu in the US, with an international release on Disney+ as a Star Original.

It is being created by Steve Joe, who is a co-executive producer on the Disney+ Original, “Doogie Kamealoha MD”.   Along with “Fresh Off The Boat’s” Randall Park and Michael Golamco, who are also executive producers and are writing the half-hour comedy.

Other executive producers include Kourtney Kang,  Jake Kasdan, Melvin Mar, Hieu Ho. Jo Koy and his manager Joe Meloche, will also be executive producers on the comedy series.
