Fox Searchlight has released a new trailer and details on a new movie called, “A Hidden Life”.

Based on real events, from visionary writer-director Terrence Malick, “A HIDDEN LIFE” is the story of an unsung hero, Franz Jägerstätter, who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War II. When the Austrian peasant farmer is faced with the threat of execution for treason, it is his unwavering faith and his love for his wife Fani and children that keeps his spirit alive.

“A Hidden Life” stars August Diehl (“Inglourious Basterds”) as Austrian Franz Jägerstätter and also stars Valerie Pachner, Maria Simon, Bruno Ganz, Karin Neuhäuser, Tobias Moretti, Matthias Schoenaerts and Ulrich Matthes.

Fox Searchlight acquired the movie earlier this year after it was shown at the Cannes Film Festival.

It will be released in cinemas in the US on December 13th 2019 and is rated PG-13.  Fox Searchlight will be making and releasing some movies on Disney’s streaming platforms Disney+ and Hulu, once it’s finished it’s first run on HBO after its cinema release.
