The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced its shortlists in 10 categories for the 94th Academy Awards.  The categories include Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, International Feature Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song), Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Sound and Visual Effects.

Voting on the final nominations begin on Thursday, January 27th, 2022, and concludes on Tuesday, February 1st, 2022.

The 94th Oscars ceremony will air live on ABC on Sunday, March 27th, 2022.


Disney picked up nominations for many of its films including “Encanto”, “West Side Story”, “Cruella”, “Us Again”, “The Rescue”, “Nightmare Alley”, “The French Dispatch”, “The Last Duel”, “Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings”, “Free Guy”, “The Eyes of Tammy Faye”, “Eternals”, “Black Widow”, “The First Wave” and “Summer of Soul”

In the nominations round, Academy members from all branches are invited to opt in to participate and must view all 15 shortlisted films to vote.
