As we all know, Disney+ is up and running with brand new content each week and an extensive back catalog of titles to watch. But, as we have reported, there are hundreds of Disney-owned titles not available for streaming on Disney+ yet. I’ve gone through the list of titles and picked out 25 I’d like to see added to Disney+.

For full disclosure, I’m based in the United States, so these are selections not currently available for American subscribers. I don’t know if some of these are available in other countries.  I don’t know the current status of streaming rights. These are just ones I hope to see added in the future.

25. THE MUPPET SHOW

The popular variety show featuring Jim Henson’s lovable creations ran from 1976-1981. For older fans of the Muppets, it would be a nostalgic look back. And for younger fans, it will be a great way to learn about the beginnings of Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the gang.

24. MAKE MINE MUSIC

A classic from Disney’s Wartime Era, “Make Mine Music” is the 8th Walt Disney Animated Studios feature film in the canon released in 1946. It’s the only fully animated film from Disney’s Wartime Era not included on Disney+ at the moment. It would be a nice completion of an important era of Disney animation.

23. UNDER WRAPS

The first Disney Channel Original Movie, “Under Wraps” takes on Halloween. It was the start of a long-running franchise of television movies that can be seen on the Disney Channel to this day. Many DCOMs are already on Disney+ and it only seems fitting the very first one be added.

22. FATHER OF THE BRIDE (1991)

A classic look at a father getting ready for his daughter to get married, “Father of the Bride” was produced by Touchstone Pictures, a live-action studio for Disney films. This 1991 remake of the 1950 original was a popular selection for families throughout the 90s.

21. ENCINO MAN

A California kid discovers a frozen caveman buried underground until the caveman thaws and has to adjust to life in the 20th Century. The 1992 comedy, called “California Man” in other countries, was the introduction of Brendan Fraser to many viewers. It’s not Oscar bait, but it’s a bit of a good time.

20. HOME ALONE

A Christmas classic, “Home Alone” is sure to be on millions of TVs come the holiday season. It’s already aired on Freeform as part of the 25 Days of Christmas. It would be great if it could be added to the Disney+ holiday lineup.

NOTE – This title is available in some regions

19. THE INCREDIBLE HULK

The second film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Edward Norton stars as “The Incredible Hulk” before being replaced by Mark Ruffalo for “The Avengers.” This film was made before Disney’s purchase of Marvel Studios and runs into some issues with Universal Studios owning certain rights to the character. This is one of the least likely because of that, but I can dream Disney could work out a deal to make the MCU on Disney+ complete.

18. DISNEY’S HOUSE OF MOUSE

The popular cartoon ran for 3 seasons in the early 2000s and features Mickey Mouse and friends running a cartoon theater dinner club. It featured many animated shorts during its time and helped blend new and old characters together. It could be a lot of fun for kids and introduce them to many characters they may not have seen before.

17. ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD

A popular American sports movie for kids, “Angels in the Outfield” is a fun time for baseball fans of all ages. It features an all-star cast including Danny Glover, Tony Danza and Christopher Lloyd and serves as a popular look back at future stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Adrian Brody, and Matthew McConaughey.

16. MICKEY’S HOUSE OF VILLAINS

This 2002 film takes a look at what happens when the villains take over the House of Mouse on Halloween. It features classic Halloween shorts as well as the villain takeover storyline. It’s got some catchy songs that would fit right at home in any of the straight to DVD sequels. It’s a fun time for kids.

15. 3 NINJAS

A classic for children of the 90s who liked to pretend to perform karate moves while playing, “3 Ninjas” is a perfect kid’s action movie. Everything may look cheesy as an adult on first viewing, but it would be nice nostalgia for some while providing a funny action-comedy for the next generation.

14. THE SIXTH SENSE

This 1999 film from Hollywood Pictures would provide another fantastic movie for Halloween when everyone is in the mood to be spooked. It doesn’t feature the gore of other horror movies. However, it would need a disclaimer similar to the ones you see before some of the older Disney films.

13. THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADOR

This is the forgotten film from “The Chronicles of Narnia” series because Fox had taken over production. But, with Disney buying several Fox properties, including this one, it can complete the trilogy (of completed films) for any Narnia fan. The first two films in the series, produced by Disney, are already on Disney+. Why not add the third?

12. INDUSTRIAL LIGHT & MAGIC: CREATING THE IMPOSSIBLE

This documentary takes a closer look at the successes of Industrial Light & Magic, the company responsible for creating the special effects for “Star Wars,” and how those successes influence films today. It would be great viewing for any “Star Wars” fan.

11. DINOSAURS

A staple of TGIF, this show ran on ABC from 1991-1994. Disney has always been great with nostalgia and already has fellow TGIF staple “Boy Meets World” on Disney+. Gathering as many of the shows from this era of family-friendly Friday night tv would be great for any 90s kid to relive and pass down to their children.

10. THE HAND BEHIND THE MOUSE: THE UB IWERKS STORY

Another documentary looking back at successes we enjoy on-screen today, this film takes a look at the life of Ub Iwerks, former head animator at Disney. Learn more about his contributions to Disney’s studio, including creating the first cartoon superstar, Mickey Mouse, and perfecting the process that merges animation and live-action film. It’s a great look at one of the other men who made Disney what it is today.

9. TOY STORY OF TERROR!

This animated Halloween special gave “Toy Story” fans a glimpse of their favorite toys lives between the events of “Toy Story 3” and “Toy Story 4.” It was released before knowledge Disney and Pixar started making “Toy Story 4.” It would be great for any “Toy Story” fan who wants to see everything involving the characters.

8. TOY STORY THAT TIME FORGOT

The second of two “Toy Story” specials made for ABC, “Toy Story That Time Forgot” takes a look at the toys during a post-Christmas play date. Much like “Toy Story of Terror!” it’s a nice completion of the “Toy Story” saga for fans to keep an eye on.

7. THE HITCHHIKER’S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY

The story of a man rescued for the annihilation of Earth who is now searching the cosmos for the meaning of life. It’s a fun film for fans of science fiction comedy films and worth a viewing if you haven’t seen it.

6. ERNEST SAVES CHRISTMAS

There’s a plethora of Christmas movies to choose from and plenty of Ernest movies out there as well. But this is the best of the Ernest movies and if I had to pick one to put on Disney+, it would be this one. It’s good clean fun, although a bit cheesy.

5. FANTASTIC FOUR (2005)

Another superhero movie featuring Marvel characters, this time produced by Fox. While not a part of the MCU, “Fantastic Four” would be another addition to the Marvel section of Disney+. It’s not the best superhero movie out there, but it would help complete the Marvel collection.

NOTE – This title is available in some regions

4. HOME IMPROVEMENT

The popular 90s sitcom stars Disney legend, Tim Allen. It was a massive hit for ABC and would be an excellent addition to Disney+. It’s another classic series that would bring people back for nostalgia purposes.

3. THE SHAGGY DOG (2006)

Sticking with Tim Allen and his Disney legacy, his remake of “The Shaggy Dog” would be a nice addition to the platform. Allen has starred in many of Disney’s popular movies of the 1990s and 2000s and it would make sense for Disney+ to complete the Tim Allen collection.

2. THE MUPPETS TAKE MANHATTAN

The Muppets are a popular Disney franchise and adding as many of their films to the catalog would be a wonderful addition. This is one of the few theatrical releases not already on Disney+. For anyone wanting to see the Muppet movies in order of release, this is a must to connect “The Great Muppet Caper” and “The Muppet Christmas Carol.”

1. SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING

Much like “The Incredible Hulk,” Disney is going to have to open the pocketbook to get this one on the app, but it will be worth it to complete its MCU collection. Sony has the film rights, but a deal could be struck to put this on Disney+.

This is a just a small sampling of the extensive list of Disney titles not already on Disney+. I would love to see these and more added for fans to enjoy. This is not ranked in any particular order, just 25 films and series that I want to see added. Are there any others that you would like to see added to Disney+?

Disney doesn't own the rights to "Muppets Take Manhattan" or "Muppets From Space" and I don't think they are even interested in purchasing the rights. As far as the Muppet Show, they probably don't want to due all the clearances, but they should at least release some episodes! They still have "Muppets Wizard of Oz" that they own but haven't released.

I would like to see the following animated Marvel content added on Disney+ which I believe Disney owns distribution rights for: The Marvel Super Heroes (1966); Spider-Man (1967); The New Fantastic Four (1978) ; The Incredible Hulk (1982); X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men (1989); Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers (2014)

This is a good list movies and T.V. shows, some I've seen and some I have never seen before that I would be interested in watching if they were to be added to Disney+. I do know that CMT (Country Music Television) has been airing Home Improvement on there channel here in the Unites States for the last couple of years so hopefully when their rights to the show end Disney will add it to Disney+. I agree that it would be and excellent addition to Disney+. It's good clean humor that is fun for the whole family. Home Improvement is the one title I want added to Disney+ more than anything else. Other titles I want to see added are Mrs. Doughtfire and Angels in the Outfield.

Home Improve is currently airing on CMT (Country Music Television) which is a network here in the United States. They have been airing that show for the last couple of years so hopefully when their rights to the show end it will be added to Disney+. Other titles I want to see on Disney+ are Mrs. Doughtfire which I think was added in Australia so it's a matter of time until its added here in the United States. Also I would like to see Angels in the Outfield. I agree that Home Improvement would be an excellent addition because it's good clean humor that if fun for the whole family.

I would also love to see that Marvel content along with the animated Marvel movies like Planet Hulk, Hulk VS and Ultimate Avengers. Some great stuff on your list. I do expect Disney+ to dig deeper in the ABC and Fox back catalogs next year. I would love to see them put some of the obscure Fox shows on there like Herman’s Head, Get a Life and Roc. While I don’t expect any of these any time soon, I can wish.

Marvel co-produced the following animated movies but LionsGate owns the distribution rights: Ultimate Avengers (2006); Ultimate Avengers 2 (2006); The Invincible Iron Man (2007); Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme (2007); Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow (2008); Hulk Vs. (2009); Planet Hulk (2010) Thor: Tales of Asgard (2011) Similarly, Sony owns the distribution rights to the following Marvel animated shows and movies - Spider-Man: The New Animated Series (2003 animated series); The Spectacular Spider-man (2008 cartoon series); Iron Man (2010 anime series); Wolverine (2011 anime series); X-Men (2011 anime series); Blade (2011 anime series); Iron Man: Rise of Technovore (2013 anime film); Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher (2014 anime film)

  7. DrewsClues April 19, 2020

As Jamie said, sadly, Muppets Take Manhattan is owned by Sony (like the Spider-Man films) and it's clear Disney doesn't care in the slightest as it wouldn't be too hard to get Sony to sell those rights back. Disney hates the Muppets. That film won't ever arrive just like Spider-Man and the Hulk movie unless they make the right deals. Also, with regards to Narnia: Dawn Treader not being on - it's on HBO until May 1st 2020. Since it wasn't on the "coming in May list" it is probably going somewhere else after that. :( Another note: Shaggy Dog 2006 with Tim Allen WAS on Disney Plus but was inexplicably removed in December. Usually when they leave, the go stream elsewhere, but this one just disappeared. As such it's available in some countries. Home Alone is currently on HBO and was removed from Disney Plus in January after having been there at launch. Father of the Bride is available in some countries! Great list. I agree on everything! The lack of Make Mine Music and the Toy Story shorts are ridiculous - filling in the wholes / gaps should be a priority. Same could be said about Under Wraps. The only DCOMS NOT on the service are this, Jett Jackson (supposedly now owned by Wild Brain), and Radio Rebel which is stuck on Netflix.

  8. Steve April 19, 2020

The old Sunday night Wonderful world of Disney shows would be great

  9. Tia April 21, 2020

Love the list! The Toy Story shorts are high priority! The only one I'd strongly disagree with would be "Sixth Sense". Great movie, but much more appropriate on Hulu. I'm not sure I'd let a tween watch that one, much less a younger kid. But other than that, some solid choices. And I had a nostalgic flashback to the 3 Ninjas. Haven't seen that since it came out, but I sure remember the cheese!

  10. Appleidk April 22, 2020

HBO has the voyage of the dawn treader at the moment, so when the contract expires. then it will be on there

  11. Peter February 1, 2021

Disney+ be like: This is not Q&A streaming service, this is not fans wishes streaming service, this is whatever we want to put streaming service
