20th Television Developing New Musical Comedy “Up Here”
Disney’s 20th Television and Old 320 Sycamore Productions are developing a brand new eight episode musical romantic comedy series called “Up Here”.
This new musical romantic comedy set in New York City in the waning days of 1999, following the extraordinary story of one ordinary couple, as they fall in love – and discover that the single greatest obstacle to finding happiness together might just be themselves – and the treacherous world of memories, obsessions, fears, and fantasies that lives inside their heads.
Original songs for the series by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, who are also writers and executive producers on the series along with the show runner Steven Levenson.
It will be directed by Thomas Kail, who is also an executive producer along with Jennifer Todd and Danielle Sanchez-Witzel.
Casting is currently underway; production scheduled for this summer in NY.
The series will be released on Hulu in the United States and is likely to be released internationally on Disney+.
