When Disney revealed a new Streaming Service would launch in 2019, featuring the huge library of Disney content and brand new content, it wasn’t confirmed if Marvel and Star Wars would be included in the new service.

But today, Disney CEO Bob Iger spoke at a Question and Answer session at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch 2017 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference,  he said “We’ve now decided we will put the Marvel and “Star Wars” movies on this app as well,” which means they will also be removed from Netflix.

Other details were also revealed for the streaming service,  including plans to produce four or five original movies, as well as an equal number of original series and TV movies.  No details have yet been revealed regarding the price for the subscription.

The app will not include any advertising and will include a vast library of content, including films, shorts, and over 7,000 episodes of Disney television shows.  The new service will be released in other countries and many will launch before the US, especially as many countries have “DisneyLife”.

With many major movie pictures like Avengers and Last Jedi, plus animated shows like the Clone Wars and Rebels and lots of Marvel shows like Guardians Of The Galaxy, Spider-Man and the Avengers, having Star Wars and Marvel content on the service will offer more variety and appeal to other customers.
