Back in 1975, Disney released a movie called “Escape To Witch Mountain”, which was a huge success and went on to launch a new franchise including three sequels and two remakes, one of which was released in 2009, that was called “Race To Witch Mountain” and starred The Rock Dwayne Johnson.

And it seems Disney hasn’t finished with the franchise following a report from the “Information” .

Projects underway, Disney has said, include a television adaptation of the Disney-made movie, “High Fidelity,” and a Star Wars–based project, “The Mandalorian.” Others, which have not been announced, include a television adaptation of the Disney movie “Escape to Witch Mountain” that is still searching for its writer.

Some shows, like “The Mandalorian” have already completed filming.

Disney often goes back to its library for new projects, especially for Disney+, as they look to use brand recognition to build the subscriber count.

If “Escape To The Mountain” does come to Disney+ as a new series, it might be a while until we see it but with Disney rebooting the franchise twice already, a third time could be the charm.

I don't see the 1995 version of Escape to Witch Mountain on Disney Plus...Any idea if that will be added? I'm pretty sure it was Disney.

I wish they would put it in there too. It is a Disney movie.
