Earlier this year, Hulu announced a brand new Marvel live action series based on the “Ghost Rider”.  But according to Deadline, Hulu has decided to no longer proceed with the series.

This series was originally due to come to Hulu in 2020 and was being created by Marvel Television.  The series was going to see Gabriel Luna return to the role that he originally played in Agents Of Shield, though it wasn’t going to be connected.

Marvel’s Ghost Rider, also known as Robbie Reyes, is a quintessential antihero, consumed by hellfire and supernaturally bound to a demon. Reyes lives on the Texas/Mexico border and when he unleashes the Rider, Robbie brings vengeance for the innocents he encounters, but struggles to control the power he wields.

Another series called “Helstrom” is still apparently on track, but Hulu and the creative team behind the show reached a creative impasse which could not be resolved, leading to Hulu deciding to not to move forward with the series.

It’s unknown if Marvel have plans for the Ghost Rider character to continue as a series on Disney+ or if Marvel Studios have plans to use Ghost Rider in other projects, such as with Moon Knight or other “Marvel Knights”.

What do you think of the Ghost Rider series being cancelled?
